It speaks

Good is subjective, I think it was good from launch, but it was still very broken in areas for months lol

Yeah, this is the thing, game development takes time and it’s absurd to think that any of these issues will be resolved quickly.

I keep stating that this game should not have been released and they have painted themselves into a corner here… but yeah… I’ll say it again.

I also don’t think there is much malice from the developers here. Fiscal reasons most likely. I don’t pretend to know, but I don’t see malice where many of my friends here do.

Constant ‘we realize this system is trash’ posts but they can’t even up the mat drop rate or anything in the meantime.

Because then you might get through the layered RNG too quickly, and the brilliant plans to squeeze money out of you via a slimy cosmetic shop might not work out. And that wouldn’t be well received by even Mr Magnuson himself.

I think they know they sell more stuff from the cosmetic store in the long term if the base game is better and the population is higher.

Don’t worry thought even if they fix the current rng shop stuff there will be some other grind to keep you running past the Aquila store.

It took a while, especially since they kept pushing out patches to fix stuff that also broke things even worse for a long periode of time.

They also dropped most support for the pc version for another long periode of time to work on the console version of the game, this was while the game was really struggling with a plethora of bugs.

They had kinda reeled things in after a while but kept releasing very lackluster DLCs that managed to keep the game on life support, and eventually almost killed their game again with Winds of Magic.

I stopped playing at this point, but i hear they managed to get things back on track by the time chaos wastes was released.

So something close to three years?

Wait a moment to see if I understand. Vermintide, then vermintide 2. Several years after its release. Many years after the departure of both. Constant feedback from both. Are you telling me that they don’t know what their consumers like and what they don’t after V and V2? It’s a prank?

They have made no one happy with Darktide. It is assumed that they have been learning all these years and they have done just what nobody wanted and nobody likes. And for these conclusions do they need more time? What have they done with the feedback from all the years of vermintide?

Someone explain it to me so that I believe it. No, it is impossible to explain it if it is not accepted that they are useless and that they only think about money. One, the other or both.

No one believes it anymore. They don’t deserve the community they have or the support they’ve been given all this time.

Did anyone play VT2 less when you got a working build? The majority of my hours were from way past me caring to unbox anything or sweat red dust crafting DLCs. Its a nonsense argument people assume they’re grinding for some other purpose than just playing. Even grinding for items in VT2 involved ‘playing the game’. I know you are being cheeky but the logic just doesn’t fit the loop. They have no understanding why people keep playing.

The endgame was playing Legend and above and having ten or so builds for each carreer that were viable, heavily optimized and different enough that it didn’t get boring.

Baiting the catfish?

I think I spent the most time just chasing frames and hats

Yea you launch an early access title not claiming its a full finished game when its clearly not. If they had just released this as an Early access title they could have avoided a healthy amount of backlash under the guise of the early access. But they did not do this and claimed its a fully fleshed out finished game that would receive content updates regularly. In fact there is a huge petition with a lot of signatures asking fatshark to change darktide to early access.

it’s all just so surreal, unbelievable

how can they not see the obvious, if they would just play their own freaking game they would understand…but nah we can’t do that

You know, im pretty sure i wrote something like this as well, only it was for VT2 about two years ago. I guess im the idiot that believed that we would not have to go through this crap for the second (third?) time.

As long as the gameplay is enjoyable that’s all I need. I’ve found that I do want something to work towards, but in VT2 I don’t consider it a grind because the gameplay is so stellar.

To be fair to DT, I don’t consider the missions a grind for the same reasons. Everything around it though…

Same, I basically check the browser extension but unless some 375+ item stats or a really good blessing comes up, I’m not going to login.

It’s been more than 2 weeks now. Goes to show how shitty is this rng system.

And before the usual suspects comes up, I don’t care for minmaxing, but I can do all content with my current equip with ogryn or veteran (veteran not even being 30, just 27 rofl). At this point I want to only fine tune my characters as there are only 5 maps and the missions are just “start from a different point and reach another point” which is another big fat joke about the content of this game, alongside the “tons” of weapons and the rest of it.

100% this, I’ve played around with different builds and setups while just working on Okri’s Challenges and such. First achieve in VT2 for prologue completion was in April 2018. Last achieve for leveling Krub to 30 was in November 2018. I have 1,249.3 hours played currently and definitely more than 75% of that was after leveling everyone to max and having decent setups already on everyone.

(Also, I’ve just been playing to get weeklies done and keep characters stocked to have enough for a solid item when one shows up at the Melk Man. Got a very bleedy knife for my Zealot which is silly and has been fun but the immense number of issues with DTide at this point in the lifetime of the game is really depressing coming from VT1 (On Xbox) and VT2 (On PC) that this game is so barebones with two games under their belt.

VT1 took forever to get proper decisive itemization and gearing, VT2 was a step-up I felt with getting 3 things guaranteed after each match so you’d get resources for crafting over time at the very least. And then Darktide released with crafting, itemization, and decisive gearing all gutted or missing altogether. It’s honestly galling that they felt comfortable releasing DTide in the state that they did before going on an extensive vacation.

Management at Fatshark should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for how they’ve handled the launch and general creation of this game. Have I had fun with the actual gameplay when it’s actually being consistent? Sure, but that’s when it’s being consistent and not having phantom hits or crashes and such. Literally the only thing that I can say in their favor that they’ll probably get the game to a fantastic state at some point. But who knows how long that’ll take… -_-

Eh, I just like that line and the topic title reminded me of it x,D

That problem was also the case with VT2. You got informations on reddit earlier than on their OFFICIAL forum.
