Same old ballistic approach to comunication channels as in VT2: throw a dice to randomly choose whether to make announcements in their own forum, FS main site, game site, Discord, Steam or any random place.
However, it is realistic that they need time to decide what to do. Any communication by FS will be dissected to the smallest fragment, no matter how positive or rational (one can dream) and the implementation will have to take time. Whether we will be happy with anything is another story…
I don’t understand. Did NO ONE think to say,“hey guys i think the systems we created are unfun”. How are they only NOW talking about this and changing direction???
I am 100% sure that people said that, especially some of the programmers. But software industry has stopped being about the software itself and more about how you can sell it. The Darktide debacle is quite a good example for this.
That’s why I can say with relative certainty how to interpret this statement: They are trying to figure out a way how to make it APPEAR that they’ve listened to feedback, but don’t get in conflict with “the money”, aka their shareholders and their venture capital. What we will see is surface-level “compromise” in the style of removing the timer on the premium costmetics (until it gets “too confusing”, mind you), while still keeping each and every part of the monetization scheme intact in its core. It will be obfuscated by very deliberately vague wording, no definite promises and some “free stuff” in an attempt to deflect the overall attention from this very fact.
Yeah, I can’t believe they rolled out a CM with that name. This community has been gaslit and lied to, and you then trot out a CM with the freakin’ name CATFISH.
Just passing the news, you don’t like it you know where to go.
I am sure Obese Fish with Cartilage Skeleton will be happy to respond
I like your optimism though… 2024
Much in the same way you don’t have evidence that this isn’t all just part of a simulation, and we’re all actually livestock for the inhabitants of Zorblax IV, i.e. you’re technically right, as am I.
Yeah, the thing is that I perfectly understand that the changes required take time. It’s a corner they have painted themselves into. We’ll see if they eventually dig themselves out of this hole. It would have been easier if they just hadn’t released the game, but that’s not where we are.
I’m not as cynical as many here. I do believe that the devs heart is in the right place. I have not heard any objections to a cosmetic shop – just this cosmetics shop.
There are of course tons of other things. The missions themselves are really nice.
Even if some devs were doubting how well the systems would be received, you have to go ahead and launch something at some point. Betas aren’t populated by anywhere near full player bases, so you don’t always know how poorly your game will be received until release.
