Is there a 40k Crossbow equivalent?

I would say not really, Abyss weaponry is mostly used by extremely radical Inquisitors, so I would find it quite surprising in the hands of a low Acolyte. And don’t really require a Psyker to use afaik

On the other hand, I would wager an easier way to have weapon + warp, by building upon Psybolts, which are Bolt rounds used by Inquisitors and Grey Knights, which are warded and can be empowered by Psykers to make them quite effective against Daemons.

Not saying that I want to see Psybolts, but I would love to see them use it to create Warp Bows, which would let the Psyker either shoot arrow normally, or hold to charge it up to have different power imbued to it (Soulblaze, Piercing…) or have it explode into different manner.

Which could equally work on a Crossbow

Oh my, now that does look like something a Zealot would use… and wear, I mean that drip is hard-zealot-coded.

Also, a crossbow that fires RPG-looking rounds, that’s peak 40k for me.

If it twas in Darktide, I reckon it’d have very high single-target damage, a bit of arch/travel time, comparable AOE to the rumbler with less reserve ammo and maybe a bit slower reload.

I can also see a blessing that gives enemies in the AOE bleed stacks if you hit a Carapace Armor type. And one that auto-reloads the weapon after being holstered for x seconds
