Is it Safe to use Weapon and Armor Customization Mods?

I mean the ‘‘Extended Weapon Customization’’ and ‘‘For the Drip’’ mods specifically.

I have a 15 year old Steam account so I don’t want to risk it.

The official statement is kind of vague.

Arguably use of scopes on weapons with no scopes may give an advantage to players compared to others who do not use the mod.

In terms of armor, although others don’t see your outfit with the mod, it gives the joy of having nice clothes, which other players have to pay for.

Thanks.

All is fine - I’m too lazy to search for the corresponding posts by FS officials but as long as others aren’t affected by the mods FS hasn’t any problems with them. Even YouTubers use them and FS doesn’t intervene.

Mods have been given the a-ok from devs. I can’t be bothered to dig up the quote but I’m sure you can google for it. Just use the ones on Nexus, a reputable and safe modding site. I know many people who have used mods for over a year.

Mods are fine. That said I got a lot of random disconnections when I tried the Extended Weapon Customization mod, but YMMV. If it works for you and you don’t get random D/Cs with it running then it’s perfectly OK. Heck, even if you do get random D/Cs then it’s still OK… just annoying. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s more or less greenlit by Fatshark.
They change your appearance client-side only. When you buy cosmetics from the store you unlock that gear serverside for everyone to see.

while technically in the grey in some aspects of interpretation, some devs do hangout in the modder discord from time to time and you would never get a permanent ban for using either, never happend for those mods and never did for mods who change a FS game in similar fashion.
