Is a new enemy coming to Darktide? a boss? what could it be?

a boss that may come is tox ogryn, which there is a model for it in the game files.
which should be the equivalent of the stormfiend from vt2.

Zealot will go from broken to absolutely worthless instantaneously

More like absolutely over powered as hell. No melee enemies at all? Only helpless ranged enemies? Where do I sign up?

Tencent uses the attack: Overpriced Premium Cosmetics with Clipping Issues! It’s super effective!

Good luck reaching them

Also the tau have recently gotten melee unit models and you’re forgetting they have kroot hounds and mercs.

I only forgot because GW forgot lol

But really tau would suck inside a hive city.

no you get a carapace pogryn

1 can only hope via addition of new enemies/modifiers, and not by nerfing anything.

If after all this time they finally add an alien race from the lore into the game and they pick Tau i would lmao.

Nobody likes the tau.

Yeah, it would be a pretty weird pick. Definitely completely throw off the entire tone of the game if nothing else lol.

I don’t know if FS is capable of designing new mobs or bosses. They don’t seem too interested in providing new challenges to their remaining fanbase.

The best they can do is a recycled VT’ Chaos Spawn, reusing the twins in temporary events and reusing the grenadier’s animations with gas bomber sprites.

I wished we could know if they are on a barebone human resource capacity, if they lack ideas or guidance, or if they plain don’t care.

I dont think they fit at all really, not to mention we get shot to bits already by just heretics with a laz rifle imagine if we where vs these guys with their amazing ranged weapons.

Honestly probably wouldn’t change much. I mean beside the whole marker light deal tau aren’t any better at shooting then humans. Actually if you look at tabletop stats they are worse at aiming sometimes lol.

Plus reapers already often kill you in .2 nano seconds if you are caught in the open so it’s not like the guns could deal any more damage. Unless they made every shot into a sniper blast.

And current tabletop stats a heavy stubber deals much more damage then a puls rifle.

Kroot are the only acceptable part of tau this is a fact.

I wish that Fatshark would add that cut Tox Ogryn Sprayer that has been in the game files for awhile now. It is basically the Darktide equivalent of the Stormfiend from Vermintide 2.

Just a reminder, every Fire Warrior wears the equivalent of Carapace Armour.

Imagine if basic Shooters were all wearing Carapace instead of Flak.

Yeah.

lol.

Short answer: no

Very long answer:

Its “similar in construction to caprace armor” in the sense that it coveres a bit more of the body and can be void sealed. In terms of protection its worse then imperial carapace, but also imperial carapace can refer to a million different things, In the context of enemies in dark tide, the enemies labeled with “carapace” are clearly wearing armor much thicker then a kasarkin/Scion would.

Carapace doesn’t actually refer to a level of protection and more so a style of armor, in that it covers the entire body or in other words its a “carapace” where as flak typically only covers the chest and maybe groin/shoulders.

If you look at the RPG systems stats are a little inconsistent but “carapace” armor is a pretty big range that goes from about the same as flak to better then marine armor, and tau tend to have armor significantly worse then a bulgryn.

A bulgryn’s armor is closer to what is considered “carapace” in this game, as in most media the armor the mobian 21st are wearing would 100% be called carapace armor, and its also sometimes considered carapace in game? Like the chest on scab ragers seems to just be a regular mobian chest plate but that is considered carapace?

Anyways, basically if tau were put into the game they would 100% be classified as flak, maybe their chests would be considered carapace but I doubt it.

Also just using books for reference, we regularly see tau get one shot by lasguns and they tend to turn into a fine mist when you point a chainsword in their general direction, so I highly doubt their armor is considered anywhere near as strong as something like a scion.

The way a lot of things bounce off them it feels more like ceramite armour. I miss the regimental doctrine that let you take carapace armour for all your guard infantry.
