INVESTIGATION: Disconnects (Error Code: 2001, 2014, 3013, 4001) & General Connectivity Issues

This can consistently happen for me when teammates disconnect and rejoin, but I am using mods such as Who Are You and True Level.

I just bought the game yesterday and started playing it for the first time. In my first couple of hours playing I had two crashes to the desktop and somewhere between 10 and 15 disconnects with various error codes, including 2001, 2006 and 3001.

Platform: Windows 10 PC, game purchased on Steam. No cloud service, game runs locally.
Country: Denmark, ISP is called Waoo internet. 500/500mbit fiber line. PC is on wired internet, not wifi, and I am able to use the internet for other online games without issues.
Consistency: The issue occurred over a period of 3 to 4 hours.

Mods: I’m not using any mods, never have.

These are my console logs. I hope you can fix this issue soon, because the game is not very enjoyable when I get kicked out of every mission at least 2 or 3 times.

Hello, I was getting error code 2014 two to three times every match for about a week.
I just turned off my mods and played my first full game without a crash
I was using
True Level
Animation Events
Score Board
Loadout names
Danger zone
Show remaining dodges
And Markers AIO

I am unable to play to any extent most of my tries end within seconds as I get booted from the session sometimes before I even have the time to sprint to the console to select a mission. I have only had error code 2001 appear and no other.

    Not sure what “peak hours” are but I will assume evening GMT+1 (~8PM) is part of peak hours.
    During peak hours I cannot be on an operative for more than 1 minute before being booted with error code 2001.
    I have tried a few times earlier in the morning (9/10AM) and I did not get booted instantly though I have not actually played to see how long it would hold up.
  • I do not have any mods installed (I have also done a fresh install so no residual files or anything of the sort is leftover)

P.S : I am not connected to a VPN whilst playing, I have IPv6 disabled on the Ethernet adapter.

Update:

I’ve fixed all my connection problems, even during peak hours.

What it took was creating a wired LAN connection with my console and my VPN router. The ping that the different regions report is wildly inacurate when I play this way – it says I have 160-200 for USA West and East when I’m probably closer to less than 100, according to gameplay. My disconnect rate is closer to what a lot of people have been reporting, which is maybe once every several hours (2014). I restart the game and it’s fine again for a few hours.

I’m not sure if this helps but the wired connection has made my VPN much more stable. I guess I just can’t ever play Darktide without a VPN!

There was an update to Markers AIO because of the skulls event, after updating I no longer crash while using mods! But there is some moments of frame dips. IDK if the issues are related

I’m experiencing frequent disconnections both during matches and while in the lobby. The most common error code I receive is 2014.

Which platform are you playing on, and are you using a Cloud service (such as GeForce Now)?
I’m playing on PC, logged in through my Xbox account. I am not using any cloud gaming service.

Which country are you playing from, and what’s the name of your internet service provider (ISP)?
I’m playing from Cyprus, and my ISP is Primetel.

How are you connected to the internet (e.g. wired, Wi-Fi, using a booster, etc.)?
I’m connected via a wired Ethernet connection.

Is this a consistent issue, or does it occur during specific times (such as peak hours)?
This is a consistent issue that occurs regardless of the time of day.

Additional questions for PC players:

If you’re using mods, have you tried disabling them to see if the issues persist?
I am not using any mods.

it happened to me 5 times today. 5! I did missions and at the end when we extract it just disconnects me from the mission and then I get nothing. WHY!? These missions are like 30-40 mins per its a lot of time!

Starting today evening, me and my wife are both getting 2001, 3013 and 4001 errors when trying to join a match. It first happened in the middle of a havoc run and immediately reproduces with 100% rate upon (re)connecting to any match since then (we load into a match, have 500+ ping, everything’s messed up, and then we get disconnected soon afterwards). Before today everything was perfectly fine for weeks, the issue first came up just a few hours ago.

Tried rebooting wifi, removing mods, rebooting both PCs, verifying game files - nothing helped.

UPD: can’t even load into the hub anymore, or getting disconnected soon after.

PC, Steam. No cloud.

Cyprus, Cablenet.

Wired, both of us.

It only has started today, 2-3 hours ago, never had this issue before.

Yes I have tried disabling mod entirely (by toggling the bat file to remove the mod patch). Didn’t help.

Only owned the game for 8 hours, and was having such a blast that I decided to buy the Imperial Edition upgrade.

Then suddenly I cannot join any games, Constantly getting error 3013.

I’m outside of Steam’s refund window, and cannot play the game at all - Such a waste of money.

Same issue here too, but for a loooong time, even the first game i played got the error.
After many Months i tried 2 games agian, with the damn Error 4001.

When I select a menu option such as the Inventory, Entreat Hadron, Penances, or begin matchmaking, there is either no effect or the game opens onto a blank menu with only the background splash screen visible. This persists for maybe 20-30 seconds, until eventually the rest of the menu suddenly appears and can be interacted with. No error code is given.

PC/Steam, no cloud service.

Australia, Vodafone.

How are you connected to the internet (e.g. wired, Wi-Fi, using a booster, etc.)?

Ethernet cable to the router, then fiber optic to the rest of the network.

Consistent issue.

Over the past few months I have been getting disconnected from the server (Error 2014), mid-mission, followed by repeated Failed joining server errors (3013). It happened around once per mission starting around the release of Havoc but has increased to around 2-3 times per mission.

The only solve for this is hitting alt+f4 after clicking reconnect and before it throws an error, then loading back into the game. After this it will usually return error 3013 once or twice more before connecting.

It is not consistent, some sessions I go one or two missions before being disconnected but once it starts happening to a particular operative it will not resolve until I switch operatives.
Occasionally it will not occur with certain operatives but this is rare and inconsistent.

Australia, Mate ISP.

The issue occurs every time I play. It seems to occur at any time of day.

I get the same issue with or without mods enabled or installed. Though there are some lingering effects of mods still present in the game from extra character and loadout mods.

I just disconnected at the end of Auric Damnation. All that hard for nothing.

Consistent. I thought it happened around 10:00 PM (Philippine Time), but recently, it happens even during the afternoon

I am in the apac region

Playing on a ps5

Using a lan cable direct to router

Tested router and connectivity to psn with no issues

Tested connectivity to other games with no issue

Everytime I attempt to sign into darktide a few things happen

  • I get to the character profile screen and it gives me a warning about fat shark servers being slow
  • I get in ship and to the mission select and it tells me teammate unable to play
  • I try to connect to a mission and it times out

This has been happening for the last week or so

The lag spikes and disconnects are still happening.
Anyone on my squad who has mods lags at the exact same time.
I play with people from US West Coast, US East Coast, England, Australia. Doesn’t matter. Same lag spikes, at the same time. It doesn’t always disconnect everyone, that part is random, but it does coincide with a big spike. It does seem to happen less often, so it isn’t Every Match anymore.
