Infinite Loading Time with SSD

Started playing the game purely vanilla for the first time, got through the prologue, did the training area, and moved on to the part where you must meet with the Inquisitor. Opened the door, hit a loading screen, and then it stayed a loading screen.

Eventually after about 20 minutes, I had to exit the game by closing window. Came back to the game about 2 days later, got into the select your operative screen, picked my operative, clicked continue, and then loading screen. Nothing but loading screen.

Tried again last night, went about 25 to 30 minutes, still waiting to get into the hub.

Tried again today, and the highest amount of time was 45 minutes straight of loading, trying to get into the hub.

I have done everything I could think of. Deleted the GPUDetection.dll, ran the game and launcher as admin, turned the worker threads up and down, tried to start a new operative, turned the graphics to low and set the game to Windowed, verified the files about 6 times, updated drivers, everything except reinstalling the game entirely, since my internet download speed is relatively bad.

UPDATE* Somehow, the prologue works as a playable option. Did it all over again, got to the inquisitor at the sanctum, and it got stuck on the loading screen once more.

UPDATE** After someone suggested that the issue may be my internet, I attempted to use a mobile hotspot, to which I then loaded in with an operative, into the inquisitor’s sanctum cutscene, and now I am at the hub on my regular internet router, seeing other players.

A very rudimentary roundabout option, but it worked? I think? I hope to god this kind of issue gets solved soon.

Hi @Owlensteintm,

Sorry to hear this.

Can you please try changing your DNS to 8.8.8.8 (Google) and see if this helps?

You can find how to switch to Google DNS here:

If this doesn’t help, could you then please provide me with your most recent console log and launcher log files.

Both can be located in the Darktide AppData directory using the instructions below:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide

Please let me know how it goes.

I’m having the same issue can yall just fix it instead of us having to change our DNS?

The game worked fine when it first released
