In the launcher, is that number CPU cores or threads?

Because I have 12 cores and by default the game choose more than that.

I don’t know how it does the determination, but I doubt it’s going to be using all of your cores that would overload your PC. It probably depends on how many threads are available on each core.

I have 12 cores and 24 threads that’s why I ask.

I have 6 core CPU (as in 6 physical cores) and it offered me 4 as maximum

What do you mean maximum? Is that the highest number you can manually change to?

I mean its a slider option… you can choose how much you want to dedicate…

OK, mine offers me 22 so I assume that number changes based on the CPU we have. Thanks.

The number is the number of threads you want to use. Its max is your CPU’s number of threads minus 2. Your threads is usually double your cores. The best number for performance will differ based on system, but putting the slider to max is a good start
