Currently the surge perk double shot proc only works on projectiles. It should apply to the Electrokinetic and Voidblast staffs secondary fire as well.
I have an alternative idea: remove the Surge blessing from the game.
I do think we probably should at least consider whether the staff with the highest base crit chance by a mile ought to have a blessing that’s literally just double hits on crit working with its RMB attack.
Like I agree with OP and many others it’s lame that it doesn’t, but I can at least sympathise with why FS would be hesitant here.
Trauma I struggle to see a valid reason why it would be a problem. Run it with warp flurry you’re not gonna be getting a lot of crits (and no guarantee they don’t just proc on the hit that would have killed without it). Run it with warp Nexus you lose quite a bit of spam potential for giving up flurry.
