I'm worried Fatshark obliterated a lot of the community's good will

more likely to me does not mean exclusively. dont try to make my statements more narrow minded.
i do not want to write an essay only about the possible reasons people come up with the opinion that ogryn sizes are too large also this is getting really off topic.

writing is tough for me and editing what i wrote a huge effort. most of what i say in written form will be misunderstood or ignored anyway, so i let my dyslexia run wild, care less about it and just try to get the words right. you dont want to read an essay from me lol i would not want to read my own essays. also this way its easier for others to feel superior to me :stuck_out_tongue: so they are less inclined to feel maliciously towards me should i offend them.

I’m so irked right now by the fact that they had the thunder hammer changes in the patch notes. Removed them last minute. Then on the launcher posted a video about weapons changes with a THUNDER HAMMER as the thumbnail. Feel like this is a nice little allegory about how fatshark has been communicating with the community regarding issues.

But what is the point of goodwill if not for “dark” situations like this one? If this situation is “obliterating” the goodwill then what good is it? That’s actually why I’m not “upset”, because Fatshark has shown me with VT1 and 2 that they will continue to the support the game. It’s why when the TW community was having ITS meltdown earlier this year, I was content knowing Immortal Empires was coming and that CA would continue to deliver quality content and refine things further because of how Mortal Empires in WH2 was treated.

So yeah, I wish we had a few more of the leaked weapons. I wish the crafting system was done. I wish performance was a bit better (though it’s gotten 100x better for me already and now I rarely get frame drops OR crashes). But Fatshark HAS earned some goodwill from me so I’m content to wait…for now. Now if in 6 months we still don’t have crafting, new classes, etc, then my goodwill may vanish. But the game hasn’t even hit one month yet… I want to see what they will deliver before I melt down.

Just like how the “learn to dodge” video’s thumbnail is a hound lol. I can dodge every special in darktide consistently apart from the bloody hound.

They’ve shown me with VT1, VT2 and now darktide that they don’t understand what players want, they don’t understand their own game well, they’ll take an age to make what should be basic changes, they have no idea how to consistently implement systems that arent combat, they’ll constantly reinvent the wheel into a cube and then try and brag about how well it’d roll.

I’m done with having any real faith in Fatshark. I know they can make really good first person melee games, but at this point VT1 and 2 are feeling more like flukes than achievements.

I got banned from the community discord that this game recommended me with for discussing the fascist influences admitted by the creators in 40k’s design. I only found out this was why later after taking my own personal time to track down through these forums how we appeal bans since check this out… a moderation team representing an ip as big as 40k couldn’t be arsed to literally send a pm or dm explaining why and for how long I was banned. Just black wall. After days of silence I am finally told by a CM (which is insane, dude CMs do not have the time for discord appeals, your discord team should be able to handle that on their own its like having your mom wash your car) that I was banned and had a few days left, days passed still banned. Opinions on what’s appropriate or not in a 40k forum aside I do think explaining the how and why of what you do goes a long way towards quelling negative anxiety in your community. I paid 40 bucks to get treated like some lol trash by a mod team that must be teenagers given what I have seen and how they acted. And this coming from a guy who professionally moderates for accounts from companies a lot bigger. I know its a grind and I know telling the truly toxic from the rest can be difficult but you guys are literally shitting in your own bed by acting unprofessional and only making more work for yourselves down the road. And in the mean time you have managed to take a life long 40k fan like me that would blindly hand you money and turn me into an annoyed karen that will now tell all my old pack of 40k dudes (we all have them) to not bother wasting their money on fat shark products. Great job :clap: Now fire your discord mods if you are paying them since they arent doing a job thats professional or hire actual mods and get things to a professional standard. Its literally bare minimum expectations for a company of this size.

And i guess you ate the wisdom at birth, knowing the game better the own devs their vision. Also i guess you´re “the majority in your opinion” by claiming stuff like “They don´t know what players want…”.

Still again everyone has a different opinion and it´s obvious that FS tries to cater as most poeple as possible.
I want a challenging game for example, and you? The same like others here i guess… everything on a top level, so you´re able to beat damnation easily with half afk LMB spam. On top the freedom of trying builds, which is actually nonsense if everything is on a top tier level without any weaknesses.

Also trying to reinvent the wheel is 100 times better than rinse and repeat the same stuff over and over again. It shows that they still care about their games instead of cashgrabbing with nothing but new artworks. And it also shows that they want to improve, which they have done with DT gameplay-wise, no matter if you like the side-systems or not.

Dunno why you´re still here is you sheet in all 3 games anyway.

Stop pulling difficulty arguments out of nowhere. I dont care if they add another 10 higher difficulty levels that i’ll never be good enough for. I want equivalent equipment to what I had in VT2 in a reasonable time frame, which didnt trivialise cata in VT2 so why would it here?

I’m still here because VT1 is my favourite game. It ended up in the best spot out of the tide games in terms of overall system functionality, and I really liked the lorebook. The more I can influence any of the tide games towards where VT1 ended up the better, in my opinion.

Yes finally… YOUR opinion. You got it.

And still, i see where you´re coming from but copy&paste is the worst thing a game-series can do. Stuff needs to be changed otherwise poeple will show up “Oh just another Vermintide” and probably jump back immediately, because they see no intention to grind all stuff again. I guess the flame would be real like “Yet you´ve made the same game again and want us to pay for that? Better make maps for V2!”.

And since they still support V2, you can always jump back if you dislike DT that much. It´s a good thing the games are different and that FS want them to be different, no matter the issues it has right now. Variety is a good thing and the game is clearly not perfect, but it´s also not the hot mess you and others claim. It´s just not your taste or you´re so addicted to Vermintide and don´t even want something else. (It´s actually what your V1 nostalgia seems to show.)

I havent played VT1 in years and have barely played VT2 for years. Ive got my fun from those games. Im not asking for a copy and paste, id just like the systems to present similar levels of rewards for similar time investments.

The game is a hot mess right now. Most people on this forum think so. Even if you dont, theres no way either of us can establish objectively that its either good or bad, so stop your one man crusade against other people giving their feedback on a feedback forum. This website is for us to give our thoughts on the game to fatshark, not to tell other people how to think about the game.

If you call it “feedback” to moan all day long about everything the game offers, then you clearly don´t know how to give feedback.
That you´ve actually used the “hot mess” response says enough about it.

And others do the same… just the typical forum guys getting emotional and exeggerating as hell. We had the same stuff back in the days at V2 with some of the exact same persons here. “This is a mess, that is a mess, i can´t get my reds, FS is so incompetent, etc…”. Even later when WoM released.
But hey, suddenly FS came with a fix or gave out something for free and guess who´ve been best friends again?! Guess who´s even now like “Hey guys, longterm friend, only my opinion should count, because me and the other 50 guys here are those who held Vermintide alive!!!”

It´s no one man crusade, you guys just give me a headache with your awesome “feedback”, which is nothing but hate with dozens of “majority” claims.
Everyone who´s longer here than Darktides lifespan should know that FS supports their stuff and that they try to address issues. This game won´t be an exception especially since they´ve to pay servers. They want it to succeed and so do i.

But you guys? No chance… you just want to get catered to 100%. You can´t even imagine others to be happy with the game, or that someone likes one or another change. “But how can you like that?” or something similar has been a phrase from you to a guy sharing his opinion and even told “agree to disagree”, because it´s nothing but his opinion, his feeling, his preference to not get bored immediately.

You clearly don´t care for the game and it´s clearly not just “I´d just like the systems to present…”, otherwise you wouldn´t jump from thread to thread and sheeting on the game in any way. You wouldn´t call it a hot mess aswell.
You care only about yourself like so many others here and you do nothing but pushing each other with some hearts or “yes yes, the game sucks, FS sucks” comments most of the time. Typical internet-forum behavior from entitled players thinking their opinion is absolute and represents the majority, meanwhile using such standard-phrases like “I´ve paid for this mess.” and other nonsense.

You are deliberately avoiding the constructive criticism and painting everybody who isn’t happy with the state of the game with the same brush

You are making yourself look like a Fatshark developer alt account

And that is just incorrect. I’ve been around for the worst shitstorms with Vermintide 2. Fatshark is not good at supporting their stuff and definitely not good at addressing issues. If you’d like to list some examples, I’d love to read them. I will post a few examples of them doing the opposite, these being a mix of features they’ve said they’d work on since the game launched and also just hilarious missteps throughout the game’s lifespan:

Deeds rework;
Traits rework;
Inventory size limit increase;
Even releasing the Weaves game mode;
Athanor system superceding the default item reroll system instead of being locked to Weaves;
Weaves weapons skins outside of Weaves;
More cosmetics, some of them in the game files since launch, for the Emporium;
Just their general lack of professionalism with the huge amount of patch delays, already evident in Darktide considering almost every patch has been delayed and/or stuff that was supposed to be in the patch being removed for later release;
Versus mode

I’m not including stuff like Fatshark being on a completely separate development branch than the players for the first few months of launch, or the six or so months after that where they disappeared without any patches etc. to go push out the console release

I’m not here making a ton of posts complaining about the game, but I assure you I share a majority of the sentiments of the users who are doing so. My feedback was left on my negative Steam review so if you’d like to go rate that as “funny” or whatever because you don’t think it’s actual feedback, go ahead

Id completely forgotten about equipment power being broken at launch hahaha

I was honestly hoping fatshark had done away with gear power and made it more like VT1 before I played the beta. Instead they made the gear progression worse than its ever been.

Man you want to talk about Fatshark fumbles. I remember when they f’ed up the entirety of Vermintide 2’s balance because of a string error or some error related to the compiler, it was so long ago I can’t even remember the exact specifications; but it pissed off a majority of people when they reverted all the buffs that users were enjoying because of that line related error.

I haven´t said everybody, but he´s clearly one of them.

They´re really slow yes for whatever reasons. And of course they won´t address any issue one or another player have with the games. But they´ve supported V2 over the years and made changes like “bad luck protection” or caused by material issues etc…

Also just because ppl doesn´t like weaves, doesn´t mean they´re bad. The biggest complain about the shitstorm was the price, “too high for what poeple expected”. And it´s the same here… ppl expected something but got again something different.
(Ok, locking cata behind a paywall is a bad move, but the rest? Meanwhile paying 10 bucks for a skin-DLC “to support the game”…)

But yeah, the weaves are a perfect example of “But we wanted nothing but the same as before, just give us new maps! Beatsmen sucks too! etc…”
Are weaves reskins? Yes and the seasons are super grindy. But again they brought something new to bring variety to the game instead of just throw around with maps. Beastmens were overscaled, but they fixed that meanwhile half the playerbase never gave them a chance again and deactivated the DLC.
On top there has been the patch changing the gameplay, so legend was no no-brainer anymore. And the shitstorm has been real aswell, because players suddenly needed a handful of skill to finish legend.

It´s more like the great Tide-fanbase is living in a bubble… “How dare FS to change something i didn´t want? Why is the DLC price increased compared to others, when i don´t even get what i wanted?”. That sums it up pretty badly.

Changes are needed in all directions and it´s highly needed to keep things fresh. And this won´t happen if FS would follow some of the entitled players wishes, because they last in “Please the same as usual…”.
How does it look like in reality? FS brings a new map, i´m gonna jump in for a handful of games just to mention nothing changed, just another 20-30 minutes of artwalk. And the game is done until a next patch arrives, maybe even forever…
Trying out with new things, new gamemodes, new enemies and other stuff will help to cater more players and to keep the games fresh.

If you think i´m that type of player, then you´re clearly wrong. Better scroll up to the troll-picture and you see such kind of players i guess.

And i know how feedback works and it´s also pretty obvious if someone has atleast put 5 minutes of thinking in it or made some valid points, etc… or if someone just want to moan because of reasons, because they didn´t got catered, because the game doesn´t match their expectations etc…

Oh good god are you still going on? I mean seriously bro…

You spend so much energy arguing with people about how awesome and amazing you think this game is and how wrong everyone else is.

If I copy pasted your post history it would be shameful.

He also can’t seem to go more than four sentences between some variation of ‘entitled’, ‘crybaby’, stating that other people’s wants and opinions are meaningless and not worth ever listening to, claiming that other people by default, simply by posting their opinion are automatically stating they disregard other opinions - while everything he has ever written is exactly that. Not to mention he’s completely incapable of actually adressing any specific point, instead choosing to manufacture opinions not found in the post he’s responding to, and his army of strawmen must be large enough to fight the forces of chaos.

There’s no really no point in engaging.

what gear progression ? :wink:

It just feels like they don’t play or test their game, since they’re devs and can spawn whatever immediately, or play any difficulty above 3… just like VT2
