We enjoy slapping and punching things, as any other Ogryns, but stagger lock is just too strong. We can chain heavies and slaps/punches all day, as long as we aren’t interrupted. Using grenades, activate abilities is just about all right, as we are limited by cooldowns and resources.
Shovel has mixed moveset for a reason. Other weapons (like Mk IIIb) have very tight timings for slapping for a reason as well.
In other words, if your weapon is amazing at hordes, it’s much harder to slap a fleshbag into submission with it. If it’s not amazing at hordes, at least you can punch every fleshbag into a wall with it.
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be. If only other ogryn melee weapons were as great as shovel or post-P14 Mk IIIb.
Tell the truth I don’t see it as a problem since there is other powerful equipment to remove that stuff (see the TH being able to 1-4 tap on Aurics and the vet being able to yell “Krak Grenade!” And remove larger enemies from existence like some kind of Jo-Jo stance).
I think being able to stagger lock is part of an Ogryn’s identity and fits with the general role they assigned being an active rank to lock up large stuff in melee.
they took away the zealot’s monster staggerlock(which couldnt even be done indefinitely tho it required no real skill/timing) so wouldnt be surprised if they made it so monsters get resistance to the slaps after being hit too many times by it
