i dont think fatshark will humble us with the recolors regarding the premium stuff just so they can have some cheap recolors when ever they want to have some.
A middle ground could be to give us recolors for the free cosmetics we can earn in the game (the ones we have and the ones we get in the future). It wont be as nice as the ability to buy recolors/ freely recolor all of the free and premium we have but it would be something atleast.

They do what they think is good for their business. Customers buy or not buy depending if they think the price is worth what they get.
My opinion is that, what they sell, is not worth the price they ask, especially cause they have even increased the prices. I won’t buy any cosmetic until they change their policy (not difficult, I just never check what they sell).
This, being said, they may be right if they get lot of money. And then, they would have no reason to change the system.
But about free cosmetics? there is nothing that could push them to do that, just for the free cosmetics. So, I don’t see them going for this move. What could they get from this move?

Them giving us the ability to change colors on free/none premium cosmetics in the game is not really changing a system. What system are you talking even talking about

You could ask the same about “why do we(fatshark) balance weapons, abilities and enemies that the community gives feedback on, what do we(fatshark) get out of doing this”.
because they know if they do this people will like the game more and hopefully play more.

So, no. We can’t have a move on the free cosmetics. Or, they move on their cosmetic system (so free and not free), or they allow premium to be recolored, but only free cosmetics? No way it will even been discussed internally

If they are always thinking this big, in the grander scheme of thing then there would be no updated to quality of life features either or eny smaller stuff adding or tweaked with at all. Like why add more panances or update melks contracts, no one is gone write a review about how they love the doing melks contract and that you this feature is must try but still they do tweak it and change them.
So, ask yourself. What will they get by working on this? nothing and it will cost them money.
Everything they do with the game costs them money so might as well add something that makes people happy every now and then (which they do from time to time already) besides the mods have shown that its easy to implement into the game so i bet it would be cheaper then the veteran- re-rework they did.
Smart idea and I never even considered it. Recolors would massively improve what we already have without FS having to spend any more time than necessary on things the player base actually wants. Sigh.
