If nerfs are on the table, we need to look at CDR talents

Seriously, CDR spam is one of the biggest issues with the games balance rn, it’s exacerbating every unbalanced thing in the game.

Zealot’s Invocation of Death letting you spam Fury gives you full uptime on the attack speed buff (which is half of what lets zealot use the dueling sword comfortably into hordes), and gives zealot 50% toughness every 5 seconds which means you can play like an idiot and barely try to avoid dmg and get off scott free (esp with gold toughness spam). It also enables chorus to be used multiple times a minute, leading people to crutch on gold toughness and giga stagger spam.

Vet’s Tactical Awareness lets a vet spam full knockdown stagger and stack giant blankets of triple digit gold toughness on the team, enabling everyone to take tons of free hits for no consequences. Gold Toughness is op on its own but it wouldn’t be nearly as bad if it only had 50% percent uptime as its designed to do (15s Duration on a 30s cooldown). If you actually had to choose when to have it up it would at least be a little more reigned in and engaging. And of course this is multiplied by vet having the plasma gun, letting you snipe all the specials and proc the CDR.

Ogryn’s bruiser lets you use charge to knockdown all the armor ever on repeat, but honestly the bigger problem is CDR taunt. Light spam on the club mk3 with all og ogryn’s new attack speed and dodge stagger means you can have basically full uptime on taunt, making you functionally immortal since you can stagger all the armor you grab, and making your team immortal cause nothing is attacking them.

Then finally the biggest elephant in the room, Psyker’s Psykenetic Aura. The fact that this applies to your team is ABSURD. They’ve nerfed it barely this last patch but it needs to be kneecapped. At the very least it needs to work like Bruiser and IoD, and it needs to not affect teammates, but honestly it should just be removed. They said they’d consider looking at that talent more and I’d say they gotta destroy it. It enables the entire team to do all of the things outline above but even harder. It also enables psyker to spam venting skriek, putting giant 30+ stack dots on bosses and melting hordes before they can ever be a threat. It also enables staves to be even more broken because of how much you’re bypassing the intended resource management limitation. (Peril is supposed to limit the power of an infinite ammo staff! that’s why they nerfed quelling in havoc!)

I’m honestly worried Arbites will have something stupid to do with CDR on its own, especially since they already highlighted that its foot knight charge ability will have the shortest CD in the game. Fatshark has started to realize the toxicity of CDR talents by giving small nerfs and reworks to IoD, Bruiser, and Psykenetic’s Aura, but we need to go further. They’re overcentralizing talents that restrict build choice and are giant fun dampening crutches that should be removed.

Havoc exists because the high end of OP is ecplises anything that exists.
Once that is gone, Havoc needs to go as well - rethink and redo it as chaos wastes isntead.

There is a small problem, and this is HAVOC, namely one single debaf on the players reducing and our HP and etc. Personally, I play in 95% of cases in the random, and it is much easier for me to rely and be part of the team with CD, and the funniest you may well refuse it, because you are not limited like that. And if you play Khavok and see that spam works with golden resistance or CD, then why not use it in ordinary games, it will certainly work there. And then someone plays with you and sees this, why not go with such a build to the Havoc himself, and everything is repeated and repeated. As a result for me, CD is not a problem, but simply a logical continuation of the real inability of the developers to make a complex mode where 4 random players will go in their builds and will play them.
This debaf on Havok needs to be redone radically, so that the players have more freedom of choice and desire not only to try, but to trust the random person with X builds, because the next 30+ minutes your nerves and time will depend on it. More modifiers for enemies, and there are more enemies (this is even more fun), but leave the HP and the stamina of the players as it is, and over time, everything will come more or less normal.

I find it really odd that this was an issue in VT2 and (mostly) fixed; a goodly number of the DT team came from VT2, but problems that were (mostly) fixed in VT2 have reoccurred in DT.

why are you people so allergic to fun
for lower difficulties this doesnt matter at all just let people have fun at higher levels with this

the fact that a ton of people still struggle in normal non auric damnations is proof enough that this constant nerf fetish wont do anything

just go play vermintide if you hate this game so much or rather go play some other tryhard ladder pvp game when you constantly have to whine for nerfs noone is stopping you from picking any other options / not participating in the cdr stuff if you hate it so much

this is just getting ridiculous just accept that the early darktide days of being this super slow paced boring dungeon crawler are over

this game doesnt have to be elden ring / souls like especially given how many people still struggle with meta builds as they are right now

I would say CDR does need consideration since the majority of CDR talents scale with difficulty, with them getting better and better the higher difficulty you go due to Fatshark’s current philosophy that “difficulty = elite/special spam”.

For example, adding a 0.5 second internal cooldown to CDR talents would kneecap them really hard in high Havoc (compared to what they can do now) but it would be almost unnoticeable in heresy or lower, since you wouldn’t get elites/specials coming that often.

It’s like Fatshark never really considered the consequences of elite/special spam powering unrestricted CDR proccing off elites, which is weird since it’s happened before in similar circumstances and systems in Vermintide 2.

Bruiser got mega nerfed FWIW so IDK about this one even at high elite density, you can easily feel the diff vs the old flat 6/5s.
And I’m outta the loop, are ppl really taking stagger CDR for taunts over the DMG debuff?

who cares about fun when you can be super elitist in the worst possible way in a tide game with people that need to prove what special contrarian little snowflakes they are for playing their secret shockmaul infantry lasgun smoke grenade build instead of the evil meta 1!1!

btw remove smite since anti fun is a legitimate reason in this community and i personally hate smite so you gotta remove it :)))

You don’t understand, the game should be complex, balanced, so that everyone memorizes movesets and plays exclusively in a team, without stupid spam of abilities, so that each run on missions is equal in difficulty to matches of the International.
We don’t want in a PvE game, where people find a way to have fun in the company of 3 strangers, to experience joy and a feeling of strength of characters and superiority over enemies.
After all, every player in Darktide should, no, is obliged to have at least 1k hours and pass any difficulty without damage and without weapons

I expect people who are playing h40 to be good at the game, and not severely carried by weapons and tree. This, so far, has not been the case in any of the public games I have played.

Player power should not be balanced according to Havoc, but Havoc should be rebalanced according to player power.

Meaning, if you nerf CDR, Havoc can be adjusted accordingly.

bruiser is probably the least egregious of the CDR perks rn (not counting stuff like zealots CDR on health dmg taken lmao) since it got changed into the % boost over time. At minimum the other CDR perks should have the same thing done to them (but IoD and Psykentic’s Aura need extra nerfs)

idk how common it is but it’s a real alternative with the bully club mk3 and an attack speed build. You can also trigger the CDR with ogryn’s new stagger dodges for even more CDR spam. It’s really strong. It either needs a cooldown or to be turned into a % overtime thing, or just reworked entirely.

The problem of the one - sidedness havoc is the only Debaf of the players resistance, it will not be - there will be no such comprehensive problem.
Yes, the hack is not a particularly popular mod (it would seem why), but he likes to set fashion in other missions, for example. On AM I began to see Zeal without prayer, and the invis was completely extinct.

the power creep was the reason we got clown cars of crushers, as everything was deleted right away. i said it a few times, i vastly prefer a game where individual enemies mean something, so the team has to act together to defeat them. not blobs of enemies clipping into each other.

Psyker CDR talents are also a BIGGEST problem has it reduces the cooldown of the entire team

All CDRs based on elite / special kills are a problem in auric…

IoD is too strong. But martyr’s purpose is totally useless. Pious pious cut throat is, in my opinion, also a little too strong because it permits to spam shroudfield.
