Havoc and it's toxic playere

Quite simple I have noticed a large portion of high level havoc players are incredibly toxic and act like their status of havoc player gives the authority.

They act like an exclusive club that hates newcomers who didn’t go through the pain they did to get there.

They often try dictate how the game balance should be and more often than not it’s anti fun they would rather have just viable weapons instead of fun weapons.

They slap the label op on anything that does it job well and feel nerds are the only answer over reworks.

Think the current veterans and zealot trees are just fine and ogryn and arbites are op despite majority of players enjoying them.

Also seen a fair share of them just hating on the forums, discord and Reddit about other players.

Just read the comments reinforcing my point for yourselves

I think darktide would work better with an I win button that finishes maps instantly so people don’t actually have to engage with the mechanics. at this point give the game optional balanced mode.

its called freeloading.
you try this stuff anywhere in a real life hobby like a sports club, i wager you be happy to exit that room on your own feet :joy:

havoc is not for casuals, aside that nobody should compel you to change your ways

on balance side i would just love for things to make sense

Let me guess, this rant of yours about them isn’t hating? Care to define the differences and maybe give some examples?

It’s not about hating newcomers, it’s about wanting to preserve a semblance of balance.

And yes, traditionally some (not all) players that play the hardest difficulties know a little about what they’re talking about.

The problem with taking their expertise into account is figuring out which ones are the ones who know what they’re talking about and aren’t completely out of touch with the how the game feels for people who aren’t as experienced or as skilled as they are.

Personally I have gotten the Havoc penances and would call myself experienced, but only viewed through the lens of practical experience. I don’t spend as much time buildcrafting or testing things with mods and spreadsheets, so I couldn’t definitively tell you what is OP and what isn’t (barring some exceptions that we all know).

I can’t make many recommendations, but I can definitely give feedback once something hits live if it was nerfed or buffed to oblivion.

IT sounds like you join havoc 30+ and go down in the very start and get questioned why you joined if you can’t play well, wasting everyones time.

Ofc players who play the game more daily than others spend time working know some more about it but its maybe not good to balance a Game around the Top 1% of Playerbase when most people still struggle to survive with Ogryn on Auric lol (not meaning havoc here specifically just overall game balance stuff in case of buffs/nerfs)

Looks at OP’s name
Oh what a funny coincidence
Come on now, you’re not even making sense just name calling because they disagree

No one says this

hows that supposed to hurt my feelings? lol just saying that maybe its not a good idea

Funny thing that FS didn’t implement a scoreboard to prevent toxic behavior.

Yet they made an entire game mode for it to prosper.

yeah because they allow everyone to just download the Scoreboard Mod and then base everything they do on numbers on it; imo they should just copy some QoL Mods from Nexus into base game and then ban all other Mods and include an AntiCheat again bcuz you can just straight up cheat and i even saw multiple ppl use an aimbot, even here straight on forum someone advocated an wallhack recently

easier to say than actually join

even as OP-god-almighty-Arbites, because there’re definitely other criteria

Talking in general, not aimed at you.

The thing is most proposed balance changes won’t be felt in lower tiers at all.

Also, one reason for nerfs is that the game doesn’t need to spit unreasonable amount of stuff on you to make it difficult. So it’s not about making things harder at all, even if some ask for nerfs. It’s about making the game balanced for higher difficulties and having fewer but more threatening enemies.

Let’s clarify:

Fun Weapons: Weapons that have little if any drawbacks to using that require little strategic thought.
Examples: Dueling Sword, Plasma Gun, Branx Power Maul

Viable Weapons: Weapons that have noticeable drawbacks to using that require strategic thought, but are rewarding when used effectively.
Examples: Crucis Thunderhammer, Heavy Sword, Catachan Devil’s Claw

Imagine if there was Friendly Fire oh the purging of lobbies,

Its the Scoreboard though, that’s the toxic part, right FS?
