If I directed the game - list of things

It’s probably a GOOD thing I don’t direct the game BUT if I did these are all things I would try very hard to change & add. It’s gonna be long so read at your own leisure.

Changes based on my personal preview and opinion within my 2k+ hours of playtime… Some popular opinions and some aren’t…pretty much my little idea box inspired by others or created by myself

  1. Red weapons, next rarity of weapons at 100% stats.

  2. Crafting rework

  3. Melta guns, power gloves, heavy bolters & flamers, 2 handed ogryn weapons, and other actually new weapons.

  4. Make the morning star interesting, talk to unique NPCs like Zola or Morrow and do some quests to progress the game’s story through them after lvl 30. Also add in minigames, bar, poker, placing bets ect. (also bring back aswell shirtless lol)

  5. Get rid of the fomo mechanics in premium shop and let people buy what they want.

  6. Actual events based on real life holidays

  7. Seasonal content, kinda like the DRG seasons.

  8. Stims to start off with (by purchasing every time) in missions. (Buyable to diamantine?)

  9. Prestige system for each class…something more for the exp you get past lvl 30.

  10. expand melk shop to include a LARGER variety of selection, 6 curios, 10 melee weapons, 10 ranged weapons.

  11. Make it so killing regular monstrosities gives rewards (kill a dh- 100 more plasteel at mission end or smthing)

  12. Currency exchange system (turn in diamantine for plasteel and plasteel for dockets, ect)

  13. Make it so Auric mission board has 3 maelstroms, ALWAYS has one w/ Monstrous specials and another w/ mostly melee enemies. The last one of the 3 is the regular rotation maelstrom.

  14. Find a way to bring back the attachments system FS was originally working on for the game.

  15. Allow people to change their character’s name, height, and voice after creation (with a cost & cooldown ofc)

  16. Go through each popular mod and figure out which ones would be viable to add into the game. (Scoreboard for example)

  17. Work hand in hand with modding community to breath life into the game’s modding scene & reward modders for mods they’ve created that positively affect the player community (community votes for best mods)

  18. A road map for what the development path will look like and what to look forward to every Quarter (3 months).

  19. Earnable premium currency

  20. Give Beta players 20k aquilla, 25k plasteel and 5mil dockets \ & \ people that started playing before 2023 14k aquilla 15k plasteel, 2.5 mil dockets.

  21. Community votes on what premium cosmetic to work on and release next

  22. Rework the game’s story a little bit…

  23. Find a way to have GW be more flexable with what we can license in the game as classes and enemies.

  24. is missing… idk. I think I deleted it by accident

  25. Sister hive city… new enemy variety in city like possible Khorne factions, genestealer cults & enemy psykers.

  26. Random ORC monstrosity encounter that will also target environmental mobs aswell including you.

  27. Make side objectives like grimoires & scriptures more rewarding

  28. Add more side objectives

  29. Do something with penance points???

  30. Encourage map exploration…somehow

  31. Last man standing voice lines for each character and short last stand buff.

  32. MORE JESPER KYD SONGS that dynamically change and rotate on all maps (except the ones that make the maps unique ofc)

  33. Make it so whoever is the mission control operator (Morrow, Zola, Hadron, ect) give unique buffs or effects, enemy/horde advisory call outs, more unique dialogue to interact directly with the team.

  34. Make map designs more streamlined and a tad bit shorter.

  35. Have specific maps & missions that are similar to “Deep Dives” from DRG for players that like longer matches.

  36. Stronger and more barrels.

  37. Make it so mutants aim to throw you OFF the map in heresy+ (not out of). Least consequential & problematic disabler. To balance it out, I would make it so they are slow to throw you and slower to charge at you.

  38. More insignias, penances, frames. All hand in hand.

  39. Solo play mode with unique bots that are actually your own created characters!

  40. Have a larger variety of voice commands, make it a textbook copy to tf2’s voice command system.

  41. Special setting to allow people to use the hud that was in the closed beta (since I thought it looked cool)

  42. Make it so enemies do little taunts on your corpse after they kill you… LOL (maybe ragers or crusher do a lil dance or something)

  43. Make it so enemies laugh at you / taunt you when you either get blown off the map or get ledged…another lol

  44. few enforcer & guard encounters in the maps and they tag with your team like bots to help you through the mission (they die easily ofc). Some have unique dialogue with mission control. Get an extraction bonus if you have them survive and extract with you at the end.

  45. More weapon paints that are purchasable for dockets and/or diamantine.

  46. Moebian 6th-like cosmetics. (Ogryn crusher-look a like cosmetics, mauler, moebian shooter. Since I think they look cool)

  47. Drivable vehicles in certain parts of maps

  48. Friendly fire mission modifier (that only shows up on auric). Too much friendly fire gets you executed by mission control.

  49. Consequences for leaving mid-session or rage quitting after going down/dying

  50. more emphasis on DLC based content (instead of income reliance on fomo shop)

  51. Cut ties with tencent if possible. It’s a bad look overall.

  52. Your own personalized bunk/dorm in the morning star that people can walk by and visit kinda like cells in Outlast Trials. (kinda ties into number 4 but whatever)

  53. EMOTES & DANCES. I want the rejects to get funky while they’re waiting in an elevator. Add some more personality flavors to the game!

  54. More environmental hazards; eg deep water, molten metal/ lava, exposed circuitry, haunted areas & ghosts… Things that also effect enemy mobs aswell.

This is all I have so far but I’ll update this as I get more ideas, feel free to leave your own ig (Serious ones or not, idrc)

In more seriousness, some of theses we know are planned, the reasons we don’t have them yet is FS being slow.

This count for: 3; 6; 7 (Which Traitor curse being the 1st); 12 (Probably, CF once said that she’ll tell the Dev that people want it); 25 (Chaos Waste most likely); 27/28 (There is an unused one): 32; 38; 39 (was put on the back burner, could return).

Now for the one that really taint that list:

Those 2 won’t happen, 1 FS isn’t flexible and they know that whatever they say has to happen as they’ve said it, as the other while it was at some point miss announced it would mean changing their system of revenue, which with the whales that play the game they have no reason to do so.

Depend on what prestiging mean, is it return to level 0 ? Then no thank you, if it’s just new cosmtics for high level then I’d say yes

Orks, and how would it make sense to have a singular Orks in the Hive.

What ? So it mess with the balance further ? While buffing us again (When we somewhat need some nerfs atm)

No thank you, keep any content as free update. (Archetypes I’m more accepting of having as paid, but even then I consider it to be supposed to be free

I saw something at the end about fornite for the taunts & emotes? :rofl: Yup, that’s a 100% soup brain comparison to the countless other games that have taunts & emotes.

It was mostly a list made for fun, but I included some other pointers and ideas from general complaints inspired by community members

Ok, actually going through it:

1,2,5,12,14,15,16,17,28,38,39,40,41,45,53: Absolutely.

3,50,: Yeah of course, except with limitations on 1 and 2 this will dilute rolls at shops and EMPs gifts so there is a downside to more.

4,52,: Yeah of course. They had the rejects playing cards of some sort in one of the trailers. Make the meat grinder not so detached from the mourning star. In VT2 I could play around with the dummies and do the jumping puzzle/course while waiting for people. Let me do things in the meat grinder without loading screens. Give me something like HD2 stratagem mini game. Perfect dodge/parry mini game (also for newbies to practice on).

6+7: Sure, as long as its “Not gone forever” and becomes like 5.

8: Could work, or make it like Vt2 where depending on the difficulty you start off with more and then eventually none.

9: Yeah even just increasing base modifiers in stores and emperors gifts, or some resource to break locks or something. Or cosmetic borders to show off with.

10,11: Yeah depends how it fits in with #2.

13: Sure, as long as they can justify the servers hosting it (seems to be why we have maps in rotation)

18: Maybe just what they’re planning without dates since they have a hard time meeting them.

19: Doubtful, but if they did this I would be worried they would involve premium currency into the crafting rework for reds or breaking locks.

20,21,29,32,42,43,47,48,54: Would be nice, but I doubt it, or at least for me it’s not a big priority/would rather focus dev time on other things.

22: What did you have in mind for this one?

23,51,: Doesn’t seem like something a games director at Fatshark would have control over.

25,35: Hell yeah. Or have the second hive city be a chaos wastes type game mode.

25-26: More enemies and factions would always be nice. The beastmen issue in VT2 happened though where people felt they were objectively harder than the others.

27: Yeah, or remove them. Or make them easier to find but optional side objectives or chest of trials kinda deal.

30: Honestly not sure. The risk and reward of splitting up and looking for ammo/supplies, but running into more enemies and being isolated is present. But I kinda like not having to look in every nook and cranny. Maybe more rooms where certain paths are blocked so you have to take a different stair way or something than you might normally take out of habit.

31,33,44,: Could add variety and be cool issue is things would have to be balanced around it then.

34: Maybe just more consistent with one another, or better rewards due to length/difficulty of the map.

36: I know some people hate this. More barrels modifier could be fun.

37: I think it’s fine they try to throw you into the middle of a horde. Maybe just change it so if there’s no horde or monster in line of sight to throw you at/into it just does the slam move to damage you. Auto cliff grabbing would come into this. Maps with edges could be fatal with modifiers that have constant mutants.

46: May cause issues with GW as well as your allies mistaking you for an enemy.

49: As long as you can differentiate that from genuine technical issues/DC’s (client or server end). The issue is if someone alt+F4’s how is fatshark to know vs a technical issue? Or someone lost power? Or had a personal emergency?
