Idea for adding an effect to Smite

If an enemy being shocked with smite is hit, then all the enemies connected by electricity take some damage as well. Will make working together with teammates more fun.

The idea is nice, but it would require the values to be in the 0.x% of the damage dealt to not be completely broken.

I’d say it would still be a good way to make people coop, even for that fraction of damage.

There’s already a smite mod that makes smitten (smoten? smote? Smitten sounds like the wrong word here…) enemies take 10% more damage from other damage sources. It’s not the incidental shared damage like OP is describing, but it is meant to work as a team damage buff.

Sure, but let’s be real, it’s insignificant.

Against hordes, where the skill is used, 10% damage goes all in overkill, it’s absolutely unneded.
Against bosses the skill is not used, because it does nothing against them.

Chipping away at a horde by hitting a single enemy is way more useful.

Maybe if something dies to smite explodes, dealing damage to the surrounding area based on the max health of the thing that died to smite.

ā€œDies while smithedā€ would be better, killing even a mob with smite takes 10 minutes…

Yeah, true. ā€˜On kill’ is probably the worst activation condition in the game, and it appears on psyker too often.

That’s interesting! I didn’t know mods could let us do that!

He meant a talent attached to the blitz ability Smite in the talent tree that adds the debuff.

Would pick it over the 10% more damage from other sources, that’s for sure.

I think it would be neat. It lets the group indirectly attack enemies. Maybe a group is struggling against a certain enemy type. The psyker maintains smite on the enemies while rest of the group indirectly hurts the troublesome enemy type by attacking adjacent targets instead. Can call it empathic anguish or something.

Sorry, I shouldn’t use the word ā€œmodā€ so generically - I mean that the ability has a modifier in the skill tree that enables that functionality, not that there’s an externally-developed game mod that does it.
