My point was you should have requested a refund as soon as you realized it did not have single player. Not hope they add it later because they said they would. The longer you wait, the worse your case is.
FS, or any company, can say whatever they want to do in the future, but you are buying the product as it exists.
Iām more used to playing Japanese games that generally do not announce features with release dates only to turn around and completely scrap them without telling anyone.
Now that Iām aware of Fatsharkās unscrupulous behavior I will be a lot more careful.
Advertisement is advertisement. Otherwise I could sue that energy drink it doesnāt make me fly. Or that body spray not making me a chick magnet. You effectively pay for what is listed on the store page (not the news part). If there is listed solo mode - take note that Steam tags are user created and donāt count either - then you have a case. If not then not. That is pretty much the same in every country.
Also waiting this long to make the case weakens it a lot as you probably got a lot of worth getting it already and played dozens (?) Of hours.
That said, at this point the whole discussion is pointless because a FS CM offered you assistance for a refund several posts above to which you have not even reacted as far as I can tell. So ignoring that help seems more like you are interested in stirring drama than making your case. Maybe you wrote a pm, canāt see that. In that case you could still have asked for the thread getting locked.
I was waiting for Steam to respond to my refund request before attempting another one and contacting Fatshark customer support. These things take time.
That being said, I see no reason why I should ask for the thread to be closed when the matter still remains unresolved.
I will be pursuing this until I either get my refund, or I reach the conclusion of a Tribunal of Consumer Claims complaint. Whichever comes first.
One final update for this thread. I have received my refund into my Steam Wallet.
I consider this to be an acceptable outcome. I therefore am cancelling my plans to file a complaint at the Tribunal of Consumer Claims and I consider this matter closed.
P.S. To anyone who reads this thread who shares my sentiment, who feels let down, betrayed, or even lied to; there are options for recourse if you feel like you do not want to continue this game of cat & mouse with Fatshark over previously announced features.
Learn your local consumer protection laws and apply them. Be clear, concise, firm, and to the point.
To anyone who chooses to continue holding out in the hopes that Fatshark may one day deliver Solo Mode as advertised, I have a long-running thread in Gameplay Feedback where you may congregate with others who feel the same way.
