fatshark, we were promised solo mode and many of us decided to buy the game because, among other things, we liked the idea of playing solo in a 40K game just like this one, me included. for me, it was mostly because of solo mode! i enjoyed it in vermintide and it kept me entertained when my internet was down and i couldn’t play online. i was excited to play this one solo too so i could get a feel for the the weapons, the story, the enemies, and the maps without disrupting my team because i’m going at my own pace. it has been 2 full years since release and solo mode still isn’t out, nor is it even being mentioned by staff in devnotes or announcements.
the promised mode was advertised and we were told that we would get it and so far all we have is private games with premade squads and a mod for JUST pc players that doesn’t even allow progression.
this is taken from a community update from BLOODY TWENTY TWENTYTWO and yet, nothing. not even a word of “it’s still being worked on, we’re just trying to iron out the remaining issues” or “don’t worry, we just need permission from games workshop” or even a simple “possibly coming soon” or anything like that.
i’m not asking for much. i just want a full solo mode just like what was promised and then, i want to be able to play it and explore the map so i can take in the map design without the issue of my team VKing me or just leaving the game. now get on it, for the love of god, just do it already.
i get being upset (to a reasonable degree) about ingame stuff or the way development isnt going in a satisfactory direction, love the game as much as anyone else here, putting in the hours reading and commenting (you dont do that unless you like the source)
BUT getting upset for a 40€ refund?
cant fill my car half for that and blew a tank or two for useless trips on multiple cases.
got a speeding ticket for a much higher sum as well last year
THAT upset me cause for decades the very same highway spot was a 80 zone and they only briefly reduced it for “constructions” that consisted of 1(one) concrete block at the side on a totally free road.
anyways, such stuff is “upsetting”

honestly despite all problems, it’s still a good game to play
and also because it is the only one, besides prior fatshark games
the only one like this, because there aren’t really other devs making a game like darktide.
I think @Lexxxielove has a right to request a refund.
Solo mode was promised and especially since a precedent was set by the two previous Tide games it can also be expected.
You can play private matches with 2 people and 2 bots just fine and the solo with bots mod works perfectly well, there is NO reason Fatshark cannot just allow private matches to be made with one person and 3 bots much like in V1+2.
Its time Fatshark. Its time to allow even a watered down version of solo mode.

i really dont understand what the issue is with solo mode. nothing bad happens if you start a private game with someone then they leave.
you’re acting like i said the game was bad. i didn’t, it’s a very good game, i’m just fed up with fatshark not fulfilling the promises they made, which, they DID promise to add solo mode. i shouldn’t need to use an alt account to play alone and i shouldn’t need to get another friend to join me and then quit just so i can play one match solo, which, while we’re on the topic, why would i just want to play ONE solo match? because if i get somebody to join me just so they can leave when we get into the actual game, i don’t wanna keep asking them over and over again just so i can play a feature that was SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE BLOODY GAME AT LAUNCH.
with their horrible version control i somewhat understand not wanting to touch systems until they want to fully overall them.
the bots are a joke compared to vt2 we dont even have bots of every class yet. i’m pretty sure they still intend to do something with bots and mission select.
i would love to have something like this in the base game
but we all got our moneys worth anything after the crafting update. for me any update after that is just a happy coincidence
people threatening lawsuits over game mechanics being missing will never not be funny to me
please, go to an actual legal practitioner and explain how the game you paid $40 for is missing a single promised feature, and that this has caused you direct harm to the point where you are entitled to compensation

Lets say you buy a car from the dealership. They say “We’ll get that new door design for you in 3 months”. If after 3 months you don’t get the new part, but were driving it non-stop, can you take legal action?
i really wish they would just come out and (lol that word is banned?) on these chips definitively, its so tragic seeing this come up every single week .
I’m not sure a cm answering a question to the best of their knowledge at the time amounts to false advertising , but this is a damn good explanation why they dont tell us anything any more, i mean why would they.
my bet is the problem is the Xbox, the S series in particular and M$'s demand of parity
well yes, however when you sue someone you don’t just automatically get a squillion dollars, the court might rule that you’re entitled to the cost of having someone else replace the door
so your "compensation"could be your game being refunded and all your game progress being deleted, or what’s most likely is the court and any sane lawyer telling you to not waste their time
also i would like to point out that a $40 game missing a solo mode is absolutely nowhere close to the same scale as buying a car, and i would love to hear what car is being produced where you can bring it back to the dealership to get parts of the body replaced with the finished version? this analogy is horrible
I figure if the dude feels that strongly about it, he probably can’t get a refund since he’s played the game for too long, but he could always see if a lawyer would take a false advertising case.
Personally, I don’t think it would go anywhere from a harm perspective but maybe Sweden has a sane legal system where false advertising is actually punished idk.
