it did influence the purchase decision, so that would be enough to make a claim, so the debate would be whether or not a comment is part of official marketing.

It was a weak analogy (my old man used to trade in second hand cars), but my point was if something is promised when you buy something, it might make you feel wronged when you donāt get it, even if you have used and enjoyed the thing you bought. You get what I was saying, Iām sure.
As for the rest, yeah, I agree. No way Iād waste a courts time over āsolo modeā. But would it be possible? Hmm, I mean it is the EU courts?
thereās a āsammelklageā but honestly even high profile stuff, at least here in germany, is usually settled at very small monetary gains.

If someone can win cause red bulls said drinking it would give you wings, something we all understand wonāt happen, I am not sure that here justice would conclude that thereās no problem at promising a solo game mode and that they never deliver it..
Now the question isā¦ how and where you sue Fatshark? and who has a lot of money to loose to try that

Well I either discovered solo mode or the servers are on fire constantly cuz I canāt get into ANY quickplay match, no matter how I try. Several file verifications and reinstalls later itās still the same. Before that at least either auric or regualr damnation worked btu it has such a delay it was unplayable, so it didnt matter anyway. Now it simply just canāt find any kind of quickplay or a āmap groupā.

I genuinely dont understand why so many people want to play solo. Every solo run ive ever seen is just someone abusing movement tech for 50 minutes and then leaving the game and it always looks incredibly boring. Also the bots in this game are never going to be good enough for them to properly function in the place of actual teammates. This games also not designed for solo mode and never has been. This is not a single player game and it never has been. Also sure apparently they promised solo mode but its been more than two years id say that ship has sailed. Also where are all these insanely elite console players who are even good enough to play this game solo anyway? Most people in most games cant clutch so where are all the people good enough at this game to play alone cuz idk where they are I never see them. This is a co op horde shooter idk why so many people want to turn it into a single player 40k game because thats not what this game is. Given all the jank and silent specials and bursters and crushers in this game I cant imagine playing solo being fun. The moment you get netted or killed by a crusher overhead the runs over.
I mean the OP literally said why they want it.
My close friend also has a preference for playing slowly with bots, and despite his love of all things 40k, he never bought this game because it still has no solo mode.
Heck I want it for penances too, like those stupid psyker ones. Could let the bots die and then burn down an Ogryn or something.
Also, they said theyād add it, thats reason enough to ask WHY we donāt have it

I dont care about penances cuz i have 5600 points and the ones I cant do I dont care about cuz i have others to do and there are always new ones anyway. If people want to play this game slowly they can just play sedition or something idk. This isnt a game where you just stand around and admire the scenery its not some single player story game. Some penances are locked behind private match but i just told myself ill never do those and im not some completionist penance chaser but obviously im well aware everyone is different. Unless youre in some low intensity low difficulty mission i dont really know how you would play this game slowly or why you ever wanna do that in the first place. Where in this game can you just stand around? Enemies are constantly spawning if you dont move even if its just one here and there and thats why you have to keep moving.

As you will see, this is not the bots the problem. They could be better, with minor changes, but they are not the main problem.
Main problem is that these bots use catachan sword and headhunterā¦ worst weapons of the game. So, above heresy (and even heresy is hard), it is clearly difficultā¦
Give these bots boltgun or IAG Columnus, and problem is solved.
They still donāt know how to make an heavy hit, so they should have a combat axe.
With just this change, you make the bots not good, but enough to play with them.
I donāt say that I want just thatā¦ but I just point the difficulties and how easily these difficulties can be solved.
I donāt want to play on seditionā¦ I donāt want to play slowlyā¦ but sometimes when I have met enough d..b players I want to be able to play the game alone
I must admit that I really hate to run after guys that never wait, never check chest and just finish by dying lamentably (and that will like to put the fault on you)

For some people there is no game above Malice. And they genuinely enjoy it. Even if it does seem boring to you.
And its not just that. Some people prefer to play without other real players at all. It gives a sense of privacy, allowing some people to relax more.
Look I get it, it might seem odd or whatever. But thats people for you, all kinds of shapes and sizes.

Iām tired of people having to ask Fatshark over and over, but I also bought the game thinking Iād be able to play it solo. I actually didnāt even play it for a few weeks because Fatshark promised they would add it on launch, so I assumed they would actually do that. Crazy how years later thereās just nothing, and Fatshark is just actively ignoring everything related to solo mode.
For all of the people saying, āWhy do we need solo mode?ā
#1: They promised to add it, so itās weird to complain about it as a concept, or how it wouldnāt fit into Darktide. Clearly the devs thought it was fine until they probably hit some kind of wall in development, then for some reason the effort ended there instead of caring enough to fulfill their promise. Weird, because with mods you can play solo anyway.
#2: Solo mode would be great for new players to practice and for veteran players to have fun without ruining someone elseās. Sometimes you want to do really stupid stuff and the only choice you have now is to maybe ruin someone elseās game, or just have the entire team be rude to you if you arenāt good enough.
#3: Itās basically the standard for co-op games. Saying that because itās a co-op game, that it shouldnāt need solo mode is ridiculous. I literally cannot name a co-op game that doesnāt have solo with bots, not saying it doesnāt exist but yeah, I canāt. I played Spongebob Squarepants: Lights Camera Pants, on the Gamecube when I was really young. Guess what that co-op party game had? Solo mode with bots.

OP, being so unlikeable that you had to develop an antisocial complex to compensate is not a valid basis to start a lawsuit over an unnecessary video game feature.
I hear you, and those points are well said. Buying the game because solo was promised , sure.
For the most part, to me, this just seems like a"gotcha" by players who want to complain. Okay they promised it, its not out yet. Ask for a refund then. I hope FS would release the info of players who would actually play solo to shut everyone up (including me).
Ill be the devilās advocate. The game is not listed as āwe promise to add solo laterā. Darktide is listed as online co-op. Buyers have to dig (although not that deep) to find the āpromiseā for solo.
While looking further, I will say that the 2 of the 6 negative reviews on their store page are complaing about not having solo(out of 22 total, 18 were positive). For all the solo players out there keep pounding the drums.
All I can say is FS promised VS for v2, we got itā¦ 6 years after launch. And spoilers, its was really not worth the wait.
The idea of solo will be more fun that playing solo, just like V2 Versus.

that depends on country tho, in European nations the advertisement laws cover way more than official posters and listings, statements and interviews are considered part of the advertisement campaign, as long as the person is talking on behalf of the company. (a dev sharing his opinions and experiences wouldnāt beābut a dev going there to talk about Features and makes promises is)
usually, game devs donāt get held accountable because
A. its such a hassle to get legally active, for a such a small reimbursement and
B. many people have some sort of Stockholm syndrome towards companies that produce their favorite entertainment
But legally speaking, many common practices are Malpractice.

Personally, I wouldnāt consider a forum reply āmarketing material, product description or pre-order incentiveā I also wouldnt consider the feature (IE solo-mode) a defect of the product.
This is an added feature, for free, people can wait.
The arguement would extend to a promised feature. (Which to me, is where things get interesting.) Does the answer Yes to āCan I play Darktide Solo?ā equal a promised feature. I would technically say no.
Why? Just look to the next sentence āWeāve been working on an optionā

This isnt a feature but an option. So we can cycle to does a āfeatureā=āan optionā , that im unsure, I would lean to no. This further extends to the phrase ākey featureā. We can all agree that solo-mode is not a key feature of Darktide.
The big oopsie would be the response specifically mentioning āa patch shortly after in Decemberā. This is the only gatcha statement someone can hold onto. The statement gives a timeframe. This is all about the EU, in regards, so largley I would still say this doesnt matter/non-issue. Solo mode isnt a key advertised feature of the game. This response is a one off, unless im mistaken and there was a dev-lead announcement/advertisement on youtube to discuss solo-mode.

Yeah, the steps to take for OP would be to send an official demand for the promise to be fulfilled, with a specified deadline. If ignored would result in OP stepping back from the contract.
If that then also is declined (aka refund refused) he would have a solid foundation for legal action.
Aqshy was not a dev but certainly in a position that represents fatshark thus i think it would count.

I clearly remember adverts of this game telling you there will be randomly generated maps using prefabricated blocks to keep the game fresh and replayability high, this game was supposed to be a DrG with triple A graphics
but instead they just used the system to make 3 maps in the torrent, and 3 maps in chasm station and called the day
and THAT is why the dev team never bothered adding a system for you to choose your maps in the first place, and we still suffer its absence up to this day
and donāt get me started on the weapons customization that never came and got abused by them to make those scams of premium skins at the store
or the new classes that never came, because patch 13 should not have existed, those new half assed talent trees (that broke every resemblance of game balance) will never make up for the lack of a new class on my book
your solo mode comes way below all this on the scam table
