I want to see sillier cosmetics in the shop

It’s always us boomers who enjoyed the gritty old games having to crash the party :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Tbh I like my zealot as a pirate, but that’s also about the farthest I go with “silly skins”.

GW might be overly sensitive with their IP, but praise their name for avoiding a “fortniteization” of 40k Games.

Yep, hard agree with this. Grim dark is grim dark. Plenty of other games are goofy.

I’d love to see some Adeptus Arbites costumes so we can run around like Judge Dredd dishing out justice.

Also I’m surprised they’ve not done a nice detailed Catachan Jungle Squad/hero set yet. Or Valhallan, Talern, or Attilan yet. All very rich characteristics rich with detail

Unless I’ve missed them…alway easy with the appalling fomo rotation nonsense.

I can confirm none of those are in. I’m holding out hope for a Catachan bundle at some point.

Just found this little illustration which shows some nice ideas for the DT sweatshop!

Tanith First and Only, Maccabean Janissaries and Noctan Strike Forces are right up my rue. Finreht Highlanders could be cool too.

Actually loads of options

Im with you @MadMartigan on this, I been bringing this up alot on here and Reddit, even tagging our favorite StrawHat buddy saying we need to have the green tank top and or sleeveless jungle green flak armor designated as Catachan Jungle Fighter, as well as offer across the character board the Catachan theme for all characters.

I know for Veteran they already have a red headband that has rotated through before yet its been a long time since, as well as how there is already green camo pants available, yet we never received a proper Catachan torso

As for Ogryn I managed to make mine look Catachan yet of course we know Fatshark can just give us the Catachan Jungle Fighters theme sets across the board if they just do it already for the love of God Emperor lol

Maybe with the upcoming update that is catering to the Veteran with new weapons and such, I look forward to if they actually go ahead and give us more and better Catachan Cosmetics as much as they have done for Cadian, Kreig, Armageddon, and Savlar regimental themes.

We did have an whole Enforcer set. Similar but not the same, yes.

I think we’ve kinda gotten several non-Catachan Jungle-Fighter-lite sets. Not with the signature sleeveless uniforms but jungle/swamp-themed all the same.

I thought we got a Valhallan set? We got ushanka style hats, at least, and one even mentions Valhalla in the description.

Edit: also found this:

And this Valhallan-lite great coat:

And I remember a flier for a full Tallarn set was one of the first cosmetic things data-mined from the game way back around launch, but wierdly, it never showed that I recall. Following the trend, we did get a bunch of generic desert garb. So, yet again, Tallarn-lite.

Nothing approaching Atillan, sadly, and a great many other of the best known and liked regiments of renown from across the Imperium.

Apart from the kinda-Valhallan one, the regiments from the wider lore that I know we have gotten have been Tempestus Scions, Kasrkins , Cadian Shock Troops, Death Korps of Krieg, Armageddon Steel Legion, Elysian Drop Troops, and Savlar Chem Dogs. So with all those, it’s strange they are hesitant to do more. Maybe they are trying to spread them over more time? But then why re-do the Steel Legion and Death Korps when there are oodles you haven’t gotten to?

And agreed, they do need to just open up the back-catalog for purchase. Have the new stuff sold at a “discount” if you NEED to keep some minor urgency element in, and then mark it up when it moves from the “new” page to the catalog. Sea of Thieves did all that and it seemed to not only work just fine but to be fairly optimal as far as cosmetic stores go.

Damn I think these cool cosmetics must have happened before I got into DT. Due to the ridiculous fomo nonsense then I guess they’re not getting my money for them either :person_shrugging:

If you’re on PC, you can do all sorts of wild things with the For the Drip mod but otherwise, yeah, it’s just a miss.

I really don’t know how this shop model could be preferable to an open-catalog one but I guess these companies, and especially Tencent, will have the data on that. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people bummed out that they missed a cosmetic and every time is just another purchase that will never happen. Oh well . . .

This is the generation I’m from as well. That’s what makes 40k stand out in a time where all media is so bubble-gum and kid friendly. Keep Darktide DARK.

Did we really get this in the shop? I never saw it before and I’ve been waiting since release for a proper Catachan set

You know what, I think that one might be unreleased as yet.

This is more likely the one I was thinking of:

Also a Moebian 33rd piece and -according to the inventory tag- available from the Commodore’s Vestitures at one point or another. According to the lore snippet, it’s gang-related rather than anything else but I guess it’d work for a cobbled-together “Catachan” in a pinch. Lots of the Moebian stuff is hive ganger themed.
EDIT: Also found this one, sold at some point, I think it was the first headset one? No mention of Moebian 33rd here so it seems red headbands can exist in this universe in other situations.

IIRC, the VERY first shop rotation we got was a “Jungle Fighter” outfit but not a Catachan, just some other world cooked up for the description. Looked something like this:

Or maybe these are the reskins. They can be hard to tell apart. Anyway, believably “jungle-y” but not reallly “Catachan-y”. I’m sure you could cook something up with FTD though.

With how lean and lanky the player characters are, there’s a good chance an actual Catachan shirtless/tank top look would not really hit the way one would wish. Unless they come with prosthetic biceps.

I adore cosmetics and unique ones too but I have to be a party pooper here too and say no, please no.

The games atmosphere is what REALLY nails it. I already absolutely detest the players that ‘dress as choas/cultists’ which is REALLY jarring and if freindly fire was a thing they would have been shot several times on accident.

Could we use more colorful cosmetics? Yes, absolutely! There are many ways to do that in-universe that fits the theme well. Several imperial regiments are extremely vibrantly colored.

The Commando Battlegear (Sumpmere Camo) and red sweatband (Moebian 33rd) has been the items I been waiting to return since they are closest to Catachan Jungle Fighter

If they even just offer a jungle green Commando Battlegear torso armor it would be just fine too

This is also reasons I been requesting the Commodores Vestures offers a more open catalog menu of the cosmetics rather than all this current 3 page fomo rotation situation

For a Commando Battlegear (Catachan Jungle Fighter) edition that would be neat for the skinning effect on the sleeveless arms, so as long as they code in that the arms match complexion chosen on character :grinning:

Be careful of what you wish for. For all we know, Darktide devs are the type to see shorts as goofy and silly.
