I want genestealer cults and Ratlings in a future update

Genestealers themselves would be too difficult for our rejects to handle since they can rip through Space Marine armor with ease but the cults would be a nice addition to the game to have to deal with. I think a Ratling character would also be incredibly fun, with an ability called Disengage that puts the Ratling in stealth for 5 seconds and breaks all enemy targeting upon them, upon leaving stealth their next shot could do bonus damage or penetrate a specific type of armor. This could introduce sniper rifles to the game as well as class-specific firearms for Ratling.

genestealer cults are already part of the story. Ratlings are a great idea.

Can you explain where genestealer cults are a part of darktide already? I missed it if so… but I want to fight these cultists specifically. Even if they are just pockets hidden in an off-path giving us more reasons to diverse and look. Right now the scriptures and grims are just meh, badly implemented… there’s barely any reason to make everyone wait on you to explore and nobody does it. But maybe we can have unique rewards for finding these cults and taking them down, even as bonus objectives.

Your idea about ratlings is imho a good start to flesh that out a little.
And as they are mentioned in in-team chatter, they are part of the Dartide-Lore and have a good chance to pop up at some point I think.
But I wonder how to deal with them being so small, as I experience being small in Darktide has more disadvantages than advantages, as my Vet is at the lowst point of the scale ^^. And some missions where heavy lifting is part of are not really designed for them. Because if those canisters wheig down Norms and Ogryns do not care, i think they would just be near impossible to be lifted by a ratling… that needs to be adressed or they need to be so good, that other happily take over the carrying :smiley:

they would probably allow canister carrying with the same excuse that they have for why Ogryns are smarter in darktide. Fudging a little here and there to make the gameplay work

My Savant talks about a big dangerous Hive City everyone is talking about, that i think would be Hive Secundus of Necromunda famous for a Genestealer Cult living in the radiation infested Tunnels of that fallen Hive.

The fact that Necromunda has a Hive with GSC doesn’t matter for Atoma.

It’s much more likely that the other hive is either completely fallen (In that case would make sense to use it as the Chaos Waste mode, and possibly introducing the 3 other Chaos Cults) or hold secrets that the Inquisition don’t want people to find.

Also iirc the Psyker do sense people in the Hive, so we know at least that there are still people living there

Agree on that, i said that because iirc my savant has a voiceline like “when does the morningstar bring us to hat danngerous hive city everyone is talking about?!” or alike.
I maybe remember that wrong and actually waiting for him saying it again and if he said Morningstar or just we or us without referencing we travel through space to get to another place.
I mean a DLC about a new Planet other than Atoma Prime to introduce another faction of enemies makes much sense. Genestealers among Nurgles on Atoma Prime i dont think will happen and the hints to Genestealers are already there in Vox Messages and there are also voicelines about Genestealers for my Psyker.

The Vox message/transmission most likely pointed toward Plaguebearers (Never Human, chanting)
As for the voices lines, they don’t mean anything, as Vermintide 2 had lines about Orks, Undead (though that might happen soon with Sofia), Altdorf Nobles…

As for expansion (Not Dlc, as they did say they wanted to have any map/enemy/mode release as free, while Class would be either free or Dlc, don’t remember for the weapons). I don’t think they will have us leave the world, like ever. But I think they will most likely add 3 or 5 zones, each with their own maps, and 2 additional modes, one being close to the Chaos Waste (When most of the game is very stable) and a Horde mode (Though I do hope they vastly expand on it compared to VT1/2). So I don’t think they will go toward other planets
