Like I said, I think FS should implement a table in main menu (ESC) where you can check what each and every phrase means. For a newbie in this game, it was impossible to understand what coherency, weapon rending, all the buffs and debuffs, supression and A LOT of stuff on talent tree really means… I mean I can read it, but I don’t understand (except after watching youtube vids) what it really means…
So, if FS could implement a table where it would explain what brittleness on hit is or does and especially blessings on weapons, what do they do. Some are perfectly reasonable and understandable, but some you have to know what they mean to know what they mean. Can I get an Ay Ay?
Be nice if the wiki were updated with this info, but it’s big task and I’m busy…with stuff.
You might glean some mechanics info from the steam guides (take with NaCl), but you’re right there should be a master guide.
Yes it’s totally absurd that there isn’t a glossary/codex and beastiary. All that info is already written up they just too lazy to copy past into a UI.
The amount of research needed outside of the game, just to understand some core mechanics, is boggling.
I think FS thought it’d be cool to leave so much unexplained, then work with selected YouTube gaming “celebs” in some kind of reciprocal back scratching scenario to engage the community.
Whereas I think, given they’ve a grown up audience, we all just looked at it as a job not done. “Sure, I’ll put the bins out FS. You guys go watch the Night Garden and have some hot milk”.
even if they got the “dark” in common, they can’t go “souls” with the environment telling the story kinda thing.
don’t get me wrong, warhammer got tons of lore more given the decades its been around.
but compared to the sombre edge of a cliff, pondering your own existence-kinda vibe,
we got 9 foot proto-brits bashing heads a dime a dozen with a latrine shovel.
there’s a time for a filet mignon and there’s time for burger king.
and darktide needs all the in your face karkery lore “servitor-screen to scroll through with a attenborough voice” tutorial they can get.
their design and artwork as well as the aestethics is pure gold, but its loud and in your face and should be handled as such.
I want to highlight that this mod is GAME CHANGING for explaining how the krak things actually work. Terms are highlighted in color text and often defined below the description in tool-tip style. It also correctly describes blessings and talents, as a great many of the original descriptions are completely misleading, incomplete, or vague. I have 600 hours in the game and still find the tooltips immensely useful.
Fatshark really needs to fix all their awful blessing descriptions at a minimum, even if they don’t add the expanded tooltip descriptions from this mod.
Hey, maybe someone should start a QOL feature megathread, because that seems to be a running theme recently. I will happily hand whoever starts it the entries from the Book of Grudges so that I can focus that project on actual problems.
