Honestly while we need some communication, at this point it doesn’t cut it to have it from one of the CM, like we need people that are higher to explain what the mess is about.
Like the CM are getting let to hang and dry by the company and its sad for them, have some modicum of responsibility and have one of the Leaders speak.
And in an official manner. No more discord stuff, no more speaking things that ultimately are worthless.

My work is as a hotel receptionist, so I know what talking to a customer means.
That said I’d like to remind that:
- You are never forced to commit to a particular job
- I understand that people, protected by anonimity, can be very toxic but the protection is valid also for the CMs
- If you cannot manage to do your work in a professional manner and/or you cannot suffer the stress then you should change occupation
And, as a sidenote, CMs are a sort of public figures so they should stop to complain about a lot of criticism. More you are exposed, more you receive criticism.
P.S. I’m not justifying any sort of excess and I firmly condemn any kind of death threats, stalking, REAL harassment.
But there’s no reason to blame the community if you say something silly (e.g. “immeasurably complex”) and you get some satire for that.
just a thought - i think a chatbot would do better work and deal better with the repercussions of it’s statements.

This is such a gaslighting argument. Everyone is making fun of FS.
Threads like these are simply setting the base for the inevitable “tHeY hArAsSed uS” argument to deflect from any valid criticism. People have solely been shtting on FS itself and many have wished the CMs good luck in dealing with the steaming pile of s the company hands them.

You are not the boss of any CM.
You don’t know what their job is because you don’t have info about the job assignments they have.
So, let’s say that your boss tells you that the room reserved by someone will instead be taken by someone more important, and it’s your job to tell the guest, when he comes in that you actually have no vacancies.
Option 1:
Ignore boss or show him the middle finger.
Outcome: you are fired, but feel good for a while.
Option 2:
You tell the guest that the room he reserved is taken. He calls you all kind of names, that you are incompetent, not doing your job and leaves angry.
Outcome: You feel bad or even harassed.
Option 3:
The guest says that your hotel sucks, that he will leave a bad review and send a letter to central management.
Outcome: Guest did something (what he could) about the bad treatment, you feel sad for the customer but what can do - you move on. Hotel takes the L and maybe it will be enough for some internal investigation and your boss would be in the shits or it would just be ignored.
There’s potentially option 4 where you go to higher management (if there is one) and be a “whistleblower”, but in most companies that has the same outcome as option 1.
Be the wronged customer from Option 3, not Option 2.
The thing it not everyone is directing the well deserved complaints solely at FS. It’s not gaslighting, it is happening and it should stop.
FS deserves it 100%, not the employees.
FYI that’s a contract violation (hotel reservations are contracts) so the management can be sued for that.

As a hotel worker, in your example, I can be sympathetic to the guest and I won’t certainly feel “harassed” if the guest will complain to me, because the guest is right, in this case. Full stop.
But you are using a red herring.
We are talking about Community managers that aren’t interacting with the community. You can say whatever you want to justify them, but people are upset because of that.

I don’t blame CM for not giving us community update. I perfectly know that they need the approbation of the project manager to do that.

When I don’t do my job, I get a warning or get fired. I imagine it’s the same for people in the capitalist west. CMs are either not doing their jobs, and for some reason no one is able to fire them or they are doing EXACTLY what their bosses told them to do.
So because people, ‘suffered’, under VT1 and VT2, that gives license to abuse the employees of FS? No.
I have none and guess what… I don’t have to.
But as a customer, I can have an opinion of the FS / CM choice. Whatever who decided that, that’s not my problem. But I have the right to think that this policy should be changed.
