With all the toxicity, can they really Manage the community. I see it now. Catfish posts sorry, no updates for a few week while the development team re-focuses on other issues that players have most complained about.
Would really like to know where all those “infos” come from. How do you know they don´t do their job properly or something? Nothing but assumptions as always…
And let me do some assumptions now. I´m sure atleast half the guys moaning on this forum don´t do their job properly or don´t even have one since they do nothing all day long but moaning about a 40 bucks game not meeting their expectations meanwhile searching for everything day per day to find something new to “take care for”.
As a preposter said… “fresh air”, it´s a solution to a lot poeple here. It´ll help the brain to work and maybe one or another will see how shitty their behavior is… caused by a game.
CM´s shouldn´t take care for all of this. They´re not treatened fair by any means and so isn´t FS overall.

If you are the CM of a game with 34 min read time on the official forum but constant post in Reddit and Discord, ya, id say that isnt doing your job properly.
Keeping saying a community update is coming and keeping delaying it over and over and over… that isnt doing your job properly.
I dont think they are bad people. They are definitely stuck between a rock and a hard place, but it doesnt make it that they are doing their job properly.
Im sure there is a reason we also havent seen Hedge in a while.
If you look around, Aqshy is doing a stellar job with Vermintide.
Darktide tho is complete chaos the way it is being handled.

Just for the curiosity sake, why not include Hedge? And does the “not CoD” quote, which I’m sure he will be regretting for a long time, count as taking it out on CMs?

I was a CM for a few years with a large tech company, and honestly, most of the time you were waiting on some form of approval or go-ahead for posting anything other than holding messages.
People in the team literally got stalked by users, whereas other users would get upset if you had ‘Junior’ in your job title even if what you posted was signed-off by project management.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the FS CMs are honestly pushing for something internally, but being prevented for various reasons. It’s weird because when you’re a CM, eventually you hit a barrier where you literally cannot ‘manage’ your community anymore because of road-blocks you have no power over.

Putting aside the content of the posts and the effectiveness of the community managers in general…
Discord is a terrible platform for broadcasting information. It’s only visible to people in the channel and you have to see it when it’s posted or it disappears under the wave of new posts and you would never know. There’s only a handful of categories rather than a topic for each post so the organisation of information in general is also poor.
Reddit it slightly better in this sense as popular comments remain visible but imo reddit has a lot more low effort posts as well as memes, storytelling, “is this weapon good?”, “check out my drip!” Etc. That’s all good but it buries CM communication under a lot of fluffy posts.
This seems to be the best place for in depth discussion and feedback and it seems to me that this would be the best place for CMs to chime in. I understand it can feel very critical here but it’s almost always constructive and people here really want the game to succeed.

You are simply wrong. True statements about objectivly wrong actions are valid and important parts of a discussion and needed waystones to reach the betterment of a situation, period. In your world, no one would put out criticism on anything to avoid being rude, which is a horrible concept leading to stagnation and arrogance, a system of echo chambers where even the most outrageous nonsense is not being challenged.

No one here is qualified to determine if anyone at FS is good or bad at their job. That is solely in the realm of FS management. People may not like they way some staff does their job, but that does not make them bad at their jobs.

Saying someone is bad at their job is not an important part of a discussion or needed as a waystone to reach the betterment of a situation.

You are telling a half truth:
I’m not in the position to judge the single lines of code because I’m not a programmer.
But as an user I can judge some macroscopic faults like bugs, crashes, disconnects, etc.
If my gun shoots blanks that’s something I can see.
And I can tell if a CM is unpolite or not or if it’s involved or less in the community.
Yes, it can be important because what’s important here is that job.
We are here participating in an official forum and we should expect some official statements here, considering the poor state of the game ATM.
Your reasoning is so blatantly wrong that I can provide a good counterexample:
Suppose I go to a restaurant and you find that the food is bad, the rooms are dirty or the waiters are grumpy and blunts or they don’t seem to listen to you.
Are you really telling me that if I complain about that I’m doing a personal attack against the cook, the management or the waiters? Are you serious?

Well, who else is there?
Every platform has its positives and negatives. Discord for real time discussion. Reddit for general longer term discussions across a variety of topics. This forum for criticism.
That said: This forum has a huge issue with non issues turning into way overly long topics based on… nothing, really. This whole topic is rather ludicrous. Pretty much every reasonable person I’ve seen has fully acknowledged Catfish and Aqshy aren’t to blame for the state of the game, nor is there much they can do if they are not given much information themselves.
Also like it or not, this forum is by far the minority compared to the size of the audience on Reddit or Discord. It’s not really surprising they put their focus there on the whole, though they’ve made it clear that they do peruse the forums and read them. (And I’ve seen them pop up at unexpected times to chime in, making it evident they are)
And @ Catfish specifically, there’s no way of knowing what her current orders are in conjunction with how new she is so if certain people are trying to make judgements about how she’s doing her job:

(Jokes aside, they are doing their best. Imagine yourself in their shoes and coming home everyday from work after dealing with all of what’s going on. Stressing them out doesn’t move the needle as people in the industry know. So, don’t make it personal to them, keep the energy directed at the proper place.)
