Yup. I have likened it to cutting off a hand or your whole arm, no matter what you are losing the hand.

I whole-heartedly back this. Adding to this, just GIVE US MORE WEAPONS. Vermintide gave you at least 3 on a win, through the chest system! Darktide gives you ONE. For a game with far more grinding. Even in VT2, playing it far too often, it took me EIGHT MONTHS to get a red Executioner’s Sword (my baby from VT1).
We absolutely need to be getting more weapons at the end, or else be able to find them in maps. For a game like this, with as many variables as there are, they could give us ten after every round and there would still be a grind!
If they don’t want to make the system just absolutely insulting they could also make weapons be commonly near the level you want them to be. It was bad enough in VT2 when you wanted a new weapon and kept making 297-299 ilevel weapons when you just wanted one at 300.
This has been my exact approach for about 3-4 months. I even created a 2nd Zealot to try and get a good flamer.
After 800 hours of play, let’s also say browsing the shop 8 hours a day for 6 months, I still haven’t improved on my 524 flamer (T3/T4 blessing). I’ve been looking for about 12 months. I’ve got variants sure, some with a higher power number now, but not with the blessings I want.
Luckily the flamer is now garbage so its all moot but that’s a shockingly long time to see if something pops up.
PS I don’t do Brunt. Been burned there already too many times.
Don’t feed the troll, he’s spouting nonsense across the forums.
To be fair, VT2 had to give you 3 because you had to break apart stuff to get crafting materials, a system i wish you could use in this game, instead of it being us “taking apart gifts from the omnissiah, heresy!” that everyone whines about, just have it be, i gave Hadron my holy weapon in exchange for plasteel and if its t3 or t4, diamantine too.
I feel bad for the folks who haven’t lived in the game for months.
I’ve accumulated most blessings I’ll ever want, and have an absurd amount of resources saved. Doesn’t make the system fun, mind you. Just allows me to try new things when they’re released.
It took all of my dockets but I’ve gotten the new vet weapons and have solid versions of them now. I’m talking over 10mil dockets blown to do it though.
Even though I have countless hours in this game and all the resources I need, I still dread having to engage with the crafting system. It sucks.
My counterpoint for this is just you aren’t actually doing that, your addon is, so trying to counterpoint a legit argument with “my addon tells me exactly when i can get one” isn’t actually helpful as advice to people who don’t want to watch the stores on their browser all day. I think normal players have about the same luck I do because they play normal hours and don’t have all day to shop camp. I agree with your method, i just don’t think its a good example to use for realistic numbers besides telling people to shop camp again using chrome.
I appreciate where you’re coming from. For me, it’s a question of being efficient with the time I have. Frequency helps, but it’s not essential to what I’m advocating.
The extension’s biggest strengths are:
Because of this, checking the store using the extension and it’s filter rules takes me about 5-10 seconds…
While a person could camp the store all day long, I agree that most people can’t or won’t do that. I’m suggesting that you do.
But suppose you only play 4 hours a week (I don’t know what you mean by “normal player” or “normal hours” so I’m spit-balling here), and over the course of a couple of months, managed to level 4 characters up to level 30.
Each character’s Amoury Exchange store has 16 items in it, 14 of which are weapons, 2 are curios.
Any given hour, you have 56 items in your store. Of those, each has a 1/81 chance of being a level 380 item, or a 1/20.25 of being level 376 or above.
If you were to choose to check manually, about half an hour of your total weekly playtime (in aggregate) is going to be spent checking the store.
On the other hand, if you have the browser up on a 2nd monitor, you can glance at between matches to see if there’s anything you want, and if so, swap to that character and snag it.
When you are done playing, close the browser.
In my experience, there’s usually 1-3 level 376 items across all 5 of my characters at any given time, but I’d be happy to collect the hard data if you want it.
If a keeping a browser window up while you play is too onerous, or you’re just against it in principle, I get it. To each their own.
that’s maybe the most sad thing i’ve ever heard. you can’t even enjoy the game because you’re obcessed with the idea you might miss out on having a slightly better weapon to play with and meanwhile i’m wishing i could get weapons with lower stat distributions to play with because i miss doing white-runs in vermintide.
Literally roll one up form Brunts and do one, no one is stopping you.
Meanwhile everyone else isn’t so busy e-peen stroking that they can acknowledge how big of a mess the item system is.
Oh so now you have a problem with the item system because it affects you?
Cool.
I’m glad you are having a bad time.
yeah, I am. you aren’t. you’re all just having fits because fatshark balanced around getting close enough to perfect (hence why stats max out at 80%, just take the hint) and you think it’s an MMO and you need to math out the perfect weapon for any build to work. fall into a ditch and twist your ankle each thursday, so you’ll have a reason to cry all the time.
Fatshark.
Balanced.
Dude, pick one.
Very mature argument. We can all perfectly see there will be no point in discussing with you anything.
So you want to play counter to what they intended (playing with sub 100 gear) and are throwing a hissy for when you don’t get what you want but have a problem when other players point out how bad the system is for them. Good talk, glad to establish you are just as much of a “crybaby” that you claim everyone else to be.
