I get the Backend Error message on the loading screen even when I only have the mod framework enabled in Vortex. If I disable every mod and unpatch for mods then I can load in. Everything I had enabled worked just yesterday. Ever since the Visions update, I’ve been getting the backend error unless I disabled certain mods and it seemed that list just kept growing until today when now I can’t even enable the mod that merely enables the rest of the mods. I am on PC using xbox gamepass to play. I’m reporting here as a bug because there have been no patches recently as far as I’m aware to cause more incompatibility with mods and absolutely no one anywhere is reporting the same issues in Nexus, reddit, or anywhere else as far as I can tell. I also have not changed anything about my network at any point.
Steps to Reproduce (Required):
- disable all mods in vortex including framework
- sign out and restart
- load in game and no longer get backend error
- play ogryn without seeing bleedstacks

No, the most recent upload of the mod framework file is July 12, 2024. Like I said, I deleted and reinstalled the game and every mod just days ago.
Now I downloaded the hotfix and got backend error loading in WITHOUT mods and unpatched but after enabling framework mod and patching, signing out and restarting, now I am in the game with at least framework mod enabled…
This is also after I rebooted the modem because I waited an hour for gamepass to start the hotfix download only for it to stay at 0% until rebooting the modem, when it downloaded right away.
The other week I was playing with mods, disconnected mid-game, and got backend error only after my network was disconnected from strong winds on the lines.
Did something change with xbox game pass network settings after the visions update?
I just figured out that I can load all my mods. I get backend error unless I boot the game up as soon as my computer turns on. I never would’ve guessed that’s what’s making the difference. Something that’s loading later on startup is causing my issue. That was still never the case before the Visions update.
This makes me think it has something to do with corsaiar iCue or steel series sonar since those alter the game but load later on startup… could be they are opening after I am open to load the game but it’s hard to pinpoint when this happens.
FWIW since Visions I get a lot of Error 2014s. Yes, I use some mods and yes they are up to date.
