I feel like survivalist should get a buff

this isn’t anything more than my personal thoughts on it. i just feel like survivalist should be buffed to spawn the lil ammo boxes like bardins ranger vet survivalist. this’d make vet more havoc viable because he can supply everybody with ammo and it’d make low ammo weapons better to take, making it so that you can have high damage and reliably have ammo. i’m not saying this buff should be 10 percent of ammo restored, i’m saying it should be more than 1% and in the form of lil boxes you and your team can pick up optionally.

I think resources should involve attrition and some actual reckoning to the spam of generated ammos and especially peril should be made.

This is however my opinion (basically the emperor’s gospel).

No, it’s perfectly fine. FS nerfed it before & it’s just at the right amount now. They don’t need to touch it anymore.

if anything it’s still too good. but the other bet aura’s are bad enough that even if you nerfed surv more, people would still mostly use it instead of the other 2. Other 2 could use some love.

It all depends, really… In lower difficulties, Survivalist is really good, almost a bit too good. In Havoc, it’s just the right amount, because you shoot a lot more using most of your ammo compacity & it’s dead-on perfect almost. I wouldn’t say it’s OP in Havoc at all, specifically, unless you’re using the no-ammo-consumed on the head shots passive ability or something. The other two Aura’s are basically worthless, unless you’re trying to screw around with other builds, which is totally fine.

i agree, the hate towards survivalist was just as injustified as the hate towards plasma gun (and of course most came from zealot mains), Veteran deserves to be shooting more with his gun, they should remove the 5 seconds cooldown which is toxic

and i would love to have the effect reduced or removed for your team mates, Veteran should be the one benefitting the most off survivalist

another thing i would love is to just add an extra perk that gives you ammo back, like SM2

Veteran today is just a melee class that sucks at everything, this community ruined it

Survivalist is one of Veteran’s very few benefits, compared to the other classes. While I wouldn’t disagree with a buff, I think the other auras need a rework WAY more than Survivalist does.

Survivalist should be baseline for Vet at this point so them picking one of the other trash auras wouldn’t hurt that much lol.

In the end, if we keep the current Havoc in mind, it would mean having to buff 99% of the weapons and classes, which would further break the balance in modes like Auric.
And most of the players who keep demanding buffs aren’t even qualified to take on Havoc, Auric, or Maelstrom in the first place.

I think the auras in Darktide are meant to have mostly minor bonuses as a soft encouragement of team cohesion rather than “stay or die” - think of Veteran’s other auras. Survivalist is almost always picked over them because it’s already so much more impactful than a meager 5% damage/movement speed. Survivalist gives enough ammo make the ammo economy less punishing while not trivializing it or completely removing it like it did in previous versions.

Dropping an ammo tin to refill 1/6 of your reserve ammo would bring it back up to overtuned status, and this is a bad idea.

You can’t blame the community for Fatshark not caring about designing vet. They didn’t even give him keystones for patch 13 and still have no idea what they want his identity to be. Psyker does everything he wants to do better and only gets buffed with every patch.

Very mature. You make a post in a forum and complain about opinions? In a forum? Okay i guess. The Veteran has many problems, the ammo aura is not one of them. Yeah i know, it can be sometimes annoying when you have a guy that is only shooting and eat everything, but the instances i was on 0 ammo i can count on 1 hand. Some Weapons just need a better ammo pool at all, but the ammo generation is fine. And I play mostly Zealot/Veteran.

In its current state survivalist gives 1% ammo with a 5sec cooldown. if we conservatively assume an average match is ~25min, that is ~300% ammo restored per player over the course of 25min. normally a small ammo pickup is 15%, so each player currently gets ~20 small ammo pickups from survivalist alone, or 80 in total.

from what i can find, at most havoc reduces the ammo pickups to 40% of their usual amount, making a small pickup give just 6% ammo. this means that in havoc, survivalist is worth ~50 small ammo pickups to each player on your team, or ~200 in total.

i hope this ballpark math gives you an idea that not only is survivalist already very strong (even post nerf), but what you are suggesting would barely even increase the ammo your team gets because it is already so much
