longer than the 5 loading screens today, each dropping me into a half finished mission i had no intention to complete?
i know by now map rotation -10 minutes and again at -30 from a fresh timer is primetime for backfills but opting out every single time only to be put in again is frustrating even for me.
much like an already half eaten burger, matches i’m not present at from the start don’t appeal to me.
so it hardly takes from my overall waiting time at all and i’d gladly choose the option if it’d spare me the fruitless loading sequence.
overall theres a time net-loss if i take into account the wasted effort trying to keep a sinking ship afloat, compensating for failures i didnt commit, waiting through the inevitable ending screen and worst of all losing map rotation time.
and even if the match doesnt go belly up, i feel no connection, no contribution hence no ambition to see it through.
so if i get 2 fresh shots in a 60 minute rotation i can compensate for my own potential failures and still sit through 10+minutes timer, i rather take this option.
Conversely with this silly ragequit/backfill loop it’s also very bland to constantly finish missions with none of your original teammates, sometimes none at all including you because everyone leaves and all that’s left is backfills
its ironic that even if the game doesnt support greater “bonding” of sorts, that brief hangar staging area does its part to sniff each others tail, accept them peeps as “pack” for the time be and be tossed into nurgle crap together.
take away that too, i feel no obligation to protec’ little 'uns.
this feels like entering the projection room 10 minutes in after having a furious on the cinema , no matter how good the movie was, your experience was shtt.
plus staying with that cinematic metaphor a while longer and to quote a great austrian:
“wenn näd genug oakschn üm drähbuch üs, üsses goanse muhwü im oasch”
make or break for a fun round is a nicely choreographed intro>climax>epilogue
you toss me past the climax no wonder i’m “not amused”
Because they have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo. After all, in their minds at least they’re better off than someone so why rock the boat when change might mean they fall to the bottom. Yes its stupid and utterly pointless, but these are gamers of one sort of another we are dealing with. Their ability to go ballistic at something is only exceeded by their inability to use rational thought processes.
As for why ObeseTuna keeps the whole system? Lazy, stupid, ignorant, pure arrogance - and those are just ones that jump to mind first. Mostly though its fear. Fear that without constant puppeting of players to create them, the illusion of a viable game would shatter. And then someone outside of their echochamber and in a position of power might just Ask Questions. Which might lead to serious discussions about return on investment, careful examination of data, and of course the dreaded Real Audit with A Purpose. Those steps all too often end up with people getting let go for gross incompetence and the policies they sunk personal worth into being ripped up.
Doesn’t matter starting from the beginning or joining mid game, your win rate won’t increase. No matter how I join, I think I win about 70% of all Auric Mael I played. Basically you are not at the level to play this mode comfortably.
