I can't play the game on Steam since the last update

Since the update, my game simply doesn’t work. Initially, I’d click “play” on Steam and it would say “running” but the launcher would never appear. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and now whilst the launcher works, I get stuck indefinitely on the “processing inquisitorial clearance” screen. It’s infuriating.

Just a guess, but check it’s not being blocked by your av or firewall.

I got a Norton certificate notification when the last patch came out.
