I think people forgot where crafting was back then but, yes, it is much better now.
And, dudes, Brunt’s is supposed to be bad. It’s the shop for people who are too impatient for the Armoury to roll a decent one. It lets you pay money for each roll instead of time. As OP says, the rebalance of the Armoury distribution (in Patch 4) has made 370+ base rating items downright commonplace. But Brunt’s retains more or less the old distribution of around .5% chance of a 370+. I got at least one 370+ of each weapon for every character in 2 weeks of checking the store for a couple hours each evening (very easy with the browser add-on).
And a 370+ is overkill most of the time. Even 350+s are pretty decent with a good stat distribution.
Do I wish we had the Athanor? Sure. Does it suck that it differs from the VT2 freedom of change? Yeah. But what we got is still perfectly workable.
Luck has nothing to do with it.
I have all the items of 375 ilvl or higher with mostly right lvl 4 blessings.
Luck?
More like atoma sniping and 600 hours in 2-3 months.
Frankly, given the state of the game I’m not so averse to the current crafting system.
There’s nothing else to do anyways we might as just grind the perfect random roll.
In the citation, OP stated that it took 12 hours.
That absolutely is luck (aka good rng).
Edit:
I just bought 85 grey items from brunt.
Only 3 of them were 370+.
Only 1 of those had a non terrible stat distribution.
After selling all of them back, i had lost 670k dockets.
