I am gonna continue tilting at windmills until Fatshark takes note of this

Yeah but that event didn’t increase profit growth value for their parasite tencent shareholders, so it won’t happen again.

this would cause the worst whining about classes being weak in tide history.

I’d love it, it would fill Auric Maelstrom up with questionable players that would up the difficulty enough for it to be a fun difficulty again

One must imagine Don Quixote happy…

I doubt that. They said they made the Arbites in 3 months from scratch. And since the recent interview with the lead game designer suggest they weren’t actually forced by GW to make the LexFan, that would mean they didn’t recieve any extra resources and did it all by themselves.

I think they also made the Hive Scum in 3 a span of three months (give or take).

They did?

In the interview that happened around the Arbites release, the lead game designer (the same who got recently interviewed by Jefficus) said that they have made the new class from scratch in more or less three months.

Give it a watch. Lot’s of interesting stuff was said there.

The same thing can be said about the more recent interview.

I just rewatched this whole video. There is absolutely no mention that Arbites took 3 months to create from scratch. If that was said elsewhere, please let me know.

But what there is mention of in that video is discussion on how long it takes to do anything: https://youtu.be/mNJbEatXEGY?t=726

I just rewatched the entire interview myself and I am not lying when I say, I’m genuinely surprised. I clearly remember people making theories that the GW told FatShark to make the Arbites and one of the core arguments I heard, is that they made the Arbites in three months from scratch, which would suggest that they dropped everything, they worked on, just to make it happen and release it alongside OwlCat.

I was so sure that it came from this interview that I even have (presumambly false) memories of the design director saying this. But now, after seeing that it isn’t mentioned in this video, I’m just left confused and wondering where did that whole thing start. I definitely remember hearing it being said by other people. But by that point it may also be a false memory, at this point I don’t know.

That’s some mind-fudgery right there if I ever felt one.

This thread was born in misinformation and I guess it actively creates it now like a SCP cognitohazard. Neat.

Aquillas event was pretty stable tho, with additional retention spikes during the event

Arbites online went parabolic downtrend in a few weeks with hard initial drop. Incase with paid DLC probably doesn’t matter much cause money earned already. Tho it’s still looks like unhealthy graph, cause no further retention spikes.

So if there was nothing aside from the aquillas event like patches and fixes (i don’t remember) it clearly works as a retention mechanism that makes people stay online and play the game.

I am not in any way shocked that the weeks leading up to the Arbites release saw increased engagement.

We don’t have the numbers that FS do. Who knows if it hit their goals. If it did, we’ll likely see more Aquila events. If not, probably not.

I doubt it’s about FS. Their mtx slop shop is running by Tencent or something.

Possibly, but FS is a business and it needs to keep the lights on. They absolutely have plans, goals/metrics based around those plans, and way more data than we do.

The aquilas event wasn’t the biggest spike in DT players. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t successful for FS nor for the concept of offering Aquilas as rewards. We’ll just have to see.

I personally think some level of earnable Aquilas could keep some players churning out runs. The question is if that result would benefit the game/FS. And we don’t have the data to determine that.

If I could earn Aquilas I’d be all over this game still. Playing the events, having fun.

As it stands the stuff you get is pretty worthless and beyond one of my friends wanting to bash some skulls in Malice I’ve got no reason to play.

Yea and you’ve played for hundreds of hours but your review is probably negative and you’ve probably bought few, if any, aquilas. Who is being retained is part of the equation.

Here’s a better chart site, more details when you make an account

DC was Arbites release…considering it was paid content probably very lucrative for FS

I appear to not be alone. This is the current top comment regarding the Rations reward.

And it’s not the only one.

If Maelstrom gave 50 Aquilas for each win then yeah you bet I’d run a lot more Maelstrom. 10 would be too little IMO, but anything is better than nothing.
