Corruption ticks per Peril generated over 100% while in Scrier’s Gaze using Warp Unbound or 20% Corruption of a wound given to Psyker when hitting 100% Peril and using Venting Shriek/Scrier’s Gaze to come back from Perils of the Warp could be a good balance to Psyker staff spam.

That said, if such a change were to take place, I would argue Zealot Beacon of Purity should replace Corruption lost on the current wound with health as a means to save stim/medicae station consumption for actual damage, fully corrupted wounds.

So if a Psyker was being reckless - think Voidstrike spam during Warp Unbound, that Psyker would easily generate Corruption and without a Purity zealot providing cleanse immediately, Psyker would max out a wound with Corruption during that Warp Unbound period.

Oh sorry I didn’t mean make sense in terms of lore. I meant make sense as in there’s a precedent for that mechanic with Sienna in VT2 as a limitation for the infinite ammo staves.

Technically a bit less limiting there since health is sort of an earnable resource with THP. But the fact we’ve gone from that to venting actively healing you (toughness but you know what I mean) is still crazy to me.

Getting even further off topic here talking about Psyker but I do believe all these balance issues are linked. I’d like to see plasma toned down but as part of a holistic player balance adjustment toning down overpowered stuff across the board, with elite spam and the more harsh Havoc modifiers toned down to just generally deradicalize the gameplay.

Cause I do generally agree with the sentiments here that Vet doesn’t really deserve to be singled out as particularly outstanding, even if plasma itself is a bit silly. Especially since its power level is very directly tied to the silly way the game currently tries to create difficulty in the face of screen clearing player characters.

I’ll take a crack, maybe forced calming of the mind entangled in warp energy surround by physical chaos as well could strain the Psykers hold and cause corruption at critical levels.

Too much strain and they fall to CHAOS or just get downed… would particularily funny seeing them turn into a demon host and just sitting down for an ally to aggro.

Why don’t we discuss enhancing the veteran’s iconic Cartreel Infantry Laser gun or introducing the veteran’s Hell Gun and Heavy Logging instead of discussing here weakening a veteran’s exclusive weapon? Honestly, there’s too little playable content in the game now, and a large number of weapons can’t provide a good gaming experience at high difficulty.

More than free to make a post about specific weapons but to be on topic this is centralized around plasma… I find if you make your post about too much information no body follows or responds because it is too all encompassing for a read and post.

Ok, buddy. I’m just a little stressed. As a veteran player, since the game’s release, he has only updated one exclusive engineer shovel weapon. Now, upon learning that his exclusive plasma cannon is going to be weakened, he feels extremely uncomfortable. When other classes all have new weapons and new talents, veterans can only choose from a limited number of weapons and talents. But now the game not only doesn’t provide new weapons and talents, but also cuts off a few useful weapons in high difficulty

I wouldn’t get too worried “if” it gets nerfed probably won’t be at least for another 1.5 months or greater with next big patch… count on later with FS and a big “if” due to community outcrys

…Veteran also has the biggest pool of weapons and talents, my favorite class to play right now. Ogryn is probably better but boring or screen spasming in comparison.

i’m not exactly sure what nerfing it achieves considering that basically the only thing plasgun has on offer compared to boltgun/bistol/revolver is going through bulwark shields

An Walls / cover it’s so great at that as well ammo efficiency and not mag dumping so easy /fun/detrimental to do on bolter

Psh why would I pick a plasma then. I plasma to not aim and go thru silly cover heretics hiding behind floors or walls or… other heretics

Plasma Gun went trough all those walls even back when it had 4.5 cleave and it was considered the worst gun in the game, not to mention everybody were using Volley Fire back then, and could see enemies trough walls

i still liked it though, even though it made no sense that it went trough walls but not trough basic chaff, same issue with bolt pistol release

and that my friend is why plasma gun has one of the worst ammo economies in the game

also boltgun/bistol are straight up the most accurate weapons in the game so iunno what you’re talkin about chief. plasgun just has a ridiculously large projectile

why not, its the gun that gets less value from survivalist aswell, due to its large magazine it gets half a standard shot each proc of the ability
