Arrowhead get complaints about their first crossover bundle being overpriced. Immediately give out second half for free. Also complaints about the store not showing enough stuff and having to wait long periods of time to hope for the cosmetics you want to cycle back in immediately start working on overhauling the superstore to address this.
Meanwhile fatshark, get complaints about the store being overpriced, poor quality, taking incredibly long to cycle back in reskins and rereleases and cosmetics people want not cycling back in for months to over a year to not at all, cosmetics not being colourable or customisable in any way.
Never respond to any of the feedback and make store prices higher after 2 years.
That stuff with strawhat saying theyâre listening amounted to absolutely nothing
Seems to be something cultural in Sweden to go for the dumbest, cheapest excuses for things. At least it seems like Fatshark mostly stopped with that, and at least it seems like Arrowhead does actually address these things rather than just throwing out a âWe hear youâ into radio silence.
Personally I hope the industry just recovers from the abyssmal state it is in right now, that these things are tolerated in the first place is absolutely horrible. Should be straight up illegal and regulated like gambling is.
we donât want to overwhelm people with too many options
Halo infinite had this solved, bloody halo infinite of all games
Have a section where it has all armours you donât have and it will tell you how to get it or take you to the store bundle if itâs current or no longer running store bundle where you could then buy it so you could go back and buy something you missed out on if you liked it. Hell how many people do we see here go hey I like this cosmetic set but when is it coming back because Iâm a new player who missed it usually because itâs their favourite regiment and we have to explain to them that who know could be months could be never.
But learning is a foreign concept to this industry
Also fatshark for how desperate they are in getting new players they sure do love making sure they can never get the stuff they missed.
And it never will, otherwise they wouldâve already done it.
I unironically think HD having a larger community makes them more likely to change it, or at least one as vocal as HDâs. Lot more people talking when they do something stupid, even if the percentage of population is the same.
However at the end of the day I still prefer DTâs monetization to HDâs. I can earn my gear through the game. I donât either have to spend money or grind out Sedition equivalent games for hours to get the new stuff. And now they have exclusive weapons that rotate out you canât get again? No thank you.
The correct example is not Arrowhead but Digital Extremes.
Warframe has a regular store where everything is available all the time, and for gameplay-relevant items you can also usually obtain blueprints to craft them with materials instead of spending spacebucks - you can also obtain spacebucks by trading with other players, so you donât necessarily have to spend real money to participate in the cash shop.
Donât praise anyone for running a slightly less horrible FOMO store than the other FOMO stores. When they say they are âlooking into solutionsâ to make it better, they damn well know what the real solution is but theyâll make a million lame excuses before they just implement a regular store.
At this point i am at 100% certain that who ever runs cosmetics shop hates fatshark with are passion. I dont see any other reason why this trash keep getting recycled and when ever new decent cosmetic comes out its not even lore friendly look alike slop.
First you decided that selling skins for 2100 bundles that has skins+weapon skins are way too costumer friendly. And its not like people are against consmetic shop. We want something decent and not recycled malformed slop.
I wouldnât stop there! What about the cosmetics themselves? Why are they not going full HAM on the shop? When was the last time they added anything to the Ordo store? Of all the games where i thought skins for both characters and weapons would be the easiest thing to do, and we have gotten zilch! They keep putting up 1 weapon skin that, tbf, is of quality but why the hell is it always the god dang Eviscerator? lol why are they not trying to do something like themes? Both character and weapon skin bundles to match! Or just throwing out certain designs that they can literally toss into the Ordo store for people to use up all that currency they are sitting on! We should really get them to address this!
That is objectively not true though, warframe has had plenty of time limited stuff; Prime Access, Heirloom skins, steam exclusive skins. Just to mention a few things.
Worse than that, they rotate gameplay affecting stuff out as well with the relic system.
Warframe is a good game, but it is still a product that engages in consumer hostile actions.
The only part of prime access that isnât obtainable through gameplay is the cosmetics, and even those are sometimes available by other means.
Relics do rotate out when new stuff is released, but you can still obtain those relics and their contents on the player market when theyâre out of rotation, and thatâs beside the fact that Prime frames arenât that much better than regular ones, which never become unavailable to grind for. Prime weapons are usually much better than the regular versions, but there are so many good weapons that donât come from relics that it doesnât matter.
Beside all that, you can grind for something like two hours and make enough spacebucks to buy basically any prime frame you want on the player market, even if itâs vaulted. Thatâs also time you spend actually playing the game and having fun, as opposed to;
The Helldivers 2 Super Credits farm which involves loading up a basically empty Difficulty 1 or 2 map, hitting every POI, quitting the mission and doing it over.
This game, where if the thing you want is actually for sale, the deal is âbuy aquilas or get lostâ.
To my actual point, though -
The in-game Market is a regular store. If you see a weapon or frame or cosmetic in there that you like, itâs going to be there forever. There are items and bundles that have been in that store for over ten years - there are a few time-limited things, but itâs not even in the same universe as having a store that exclusively stocks a handful of items at a time and is barefacedly designed to psychologically manipulate you.
Technically speaking the thing with being âtoo overwhelmingâ can be true. BUT.
You could still technically have 2 tabs, one for the âdeals of the dayâ section where you shoehorn people into buying XYZ and the second tab, where stuff is listed for those searching for something specific.
