Thanks, I didn’t know that.
I’ve gotten True Survivor penances in multiple random groups, and I play all classes but Ogryn. It might not “require” meta-slaving, but it promotes it to a heavy degree for a comfortable quickplay experience, because in most random teams you don’t have teammates on your beck and call.
Playing with golden toughness and bubble is a whole different experience to playing, say, Executioner’s Stance Vet, as well as playing weapons like Catachan, Heavy Sword, Thunder Hammer, Shock Maul which feel severely underpowered, borderline useless in their Havoc limitations.
Whenever I play Havoc 40, at least 2-3 times per week, I see the same builds over and over, and over, and over again, and I can’t blame people. It makes the game very stale, but it’s only the devs fault. So forgive me if I sound a bit miffed, but I just can’t get behind “Most pubbies understand this by now.” In your experience maybe.
For the past 2 weeks I’ve been seeing melee psykers, more charge zealots and even the odd exe vet. I’d agree with you that some classes definitely are more prone to sticking to meta slaving. Namely shout/ds vets in my experience. But so far I’ve seen way more variety compared to the first few weeks of havoc.
It definitely feels like the h40 player base is improving.
But as I said, maybe that’s just my experience as a night time EU player. Whenever I hop on for a quick run during the day it’s mostly all dueling swords, with bubble, book, and shout.
That’s because you, me, and the other regular forum users rank in the top 5% of player skill levels.
Personally, I’ve never felt like I fall into that group, but when I compare myself to other Havoc/AM players and what others have told me, there is a considerable gap in game knowledge between us.
The majority of gamers in any game community never visit the forums or use social media. Never read up on updates, reviews, or news.
Consider how many people are unable/had a difficult time to achieve Havoc 25 for penance armor, or how many people were unable to obtain 4500 penance points for loyalist armor previously.
That should reveal to you the exact issue with Fatshark’s excessive focus on Havoc.
A game mode that, on the one hand, has an extremely short lifespan for skilled players but, on the other hand, gates and causes the majority of the player base to quit before reaching rank 25.
Also (after reading all of the responses), isn’t it odd that you always see the same player names/accounts when pugging level 40 (EU)?
Can it be true that only a small fraction of the playerbase have pub rank 40 Havoc on farm, leading to you to see the same players over and over?
Coincidence? I think not!
I won’t name names, but he resides in a nearby nation to mine (Sweden).
I assume you are talking about Telo, who doesn’t play the game at all anymore.
If you want to QA test in general then send your CV to QA outsource companies or games studios as all mid-large studios have a QA dept. It’s a good way to learn the internal workings and find out about the other roles whilst you’re inside the studio.
This has veered sufficiently off-topic for now. The original question was answered (as far as it can be) a while ago. Thread closed.
