they will, i was rather referring to the spit in the face of loyal players for two years only to make a quick buck on console “stuff”

Steam players will not be allowed to opt out. They will be required to follow the same region rules.

Disabling ragdolls is still in no way acceptable as a retroactive change. I will definitely be changing my review to a negative one.

So everyone in the US, Canada, Austrialia, etc will get the gore and ragdolls restored with the December 3rd patch?
Those regions should not be affected by this change. Is that happening for you?

You ought to do a better job then, because ragdolls are in no way problematic when it comes to German age ratings, they’ve been in games since the PS2. A time when regulations were significantly more strict than they are now.
None of my other modern games have encountered this regulation.

I am being told by my friends that it is infact happening to them, though i haven’t checked for myself. If it’s not happening or it’s at least not supposed to be then at least that’s my major concerns taken care of, even though it’s absolutely unfair to be censoring the game for some players two years after release.

I would love to see where Austria mandates any sort of gore restrictions. We’ve never had these. We always had access to the most gratuitously gory of games, completely uncensored and entirely legal. Same with movies. We are not Germany (though AFAIK they don’t have an issue with gore anymore either, except in very rare cases like the Dying Light games) and I have the strong feeling Fatshark is lumping us in with that locale because we also speak German. Ask your superiors how they feel about Sweden, Denmark, and Norway all being one locale. It’s at best ignorant and at worst bigoted.
I agree with the others that you (the Fatshark suits, that is, not you specifically, StrawHat - you are but the messenger and I have no quarrel with you) are shoving misunderstood or, in the worst case, made-up government restrictions in front of a business decision. In either case, not a good look and I will also be reviewing the game negatively.

Also I don’t understand why censoring is necessary for an 18 rated game, if it was 16 or something I would get it.
There is no such rule in Germany and you know it. If it were, you would have violated that rule for almost 2 years now. Your game got an age rating by the USK on 31.01.2023. Darktide was classified as USK 18. There is absolutely no need to change anything in this regard.
Your company is making up rules to cover up a decision it made for profit. That’s it.
