That is truly amazing. The board game. Which people claimed FS had nothing to do with. And now they’re flogging cosmetic slop that ties in with the frigging BOARD GAME.
Now wonder the tie-in games had a longer Skulls presentation than the actual Darktide game.
Also hilariously enough vet has a bolter skin, zealot a flamer, and Psykers a knife one because the hell gun doesn’t exist for players and the ‘zealot’ mini’s combi-weapon ditto - and ig Psykers’s staff already exists as well lmao
Yeah I wonder when that Vindictor thingy will make it into the game. Surely they wouldn’t create something like that for the board game, and instead give us… pickaxes. Right?
So, while its good that these items are being fixed, why are these sorts of things worthy of distinct releases and hot-fixes? Why aren’t they just rolled into normal patches?
It’s odd seeing routine “Hotfixes” between major patches rushed out to address specific relatively trivial cosmetic issues, as longstanding significant gameplay bugs persist.
IG Fatshark got yelled at whenever they did a shop rotation for nothing but said shop rotations, so now they just bundle whatever the intern and potted plant have managed to do with the biweekly cosmetic dump.
I’m not hinting at anything, but how long will the 7-day period for updating the 4th page of cosmetics last? Can other items be added to the pool? What’s the logic behind this?
The 4th page is only until skulls ends. Though I like the rogue trader sets so I can’t cast shade there (minus the terrible clipping of the ogryn coat with like any ogryn lower body).
It’s because right now they’re focused on Versus for Vermintide 2:
They’ve probably been focusing on that for the better part of months trying to frankenstein the game engine to support pvp. The folks maintaining Darktide is probably a handful of interns while the real group is focused on this.
I am at this point convinced that hot fixes that are consistently coinciding with being a day or two away from the MTX drop are just minor things they fix so that they can slide in the new cosmetics with the patch.
Oh it’s nothing you have to be convinced about one way or the other, that is how it is. The biweekly ‘hotfixes’ coincide exactly with the MTX rotation.
Y’know, I’d be less salty about the absolute dearth of actual development if they told us anything about what they were actually working on. Provisional patch notes or something. But IG Fatshark doesn’t want feedback on their efforts to fix the single biggest pain point in the game.
