Hopefully helpful tips for Sacrificing and Empowering after Unlocked

Cross posted on reddit.
It’s likely that people already know this but for those who don’t:

Power is just the modifier bars, it doesn’t care about perks or blessings.

Power 500 is ~base rating 380 in the old system but a few rounding errors make it seem 379-380)

CONSECRATE BEFORE EMPOWER

It is cheaper to consecrate (and re-bless and refine perk) on a lower power weapon.

It costs 1450 Pasteel, 425 Diamantine to Consecrate a grey to Orange Power 500 Weapon

It costs 1050 Pasteel, 383 Diamantine to Consecrate a grey to Orange Power 380 Weapon

It costs 780 Pasteel, 283 Diamantine to Consecrate a grey to Orange Power 300 Weapon

So Consecrate to orange before Empowering to 500.

EMPOWER COST

It costs 48500 Dockets, 1450 Pasteel, 850 Diamantine for Empower from Power 380 to Power 500.

It costs 72500 Dockets, 2250 Pasteel, 1250 Diamantine for Empower from Power 300 to Power 500.

(At level 30: I think 300 is minimum power from Brunt and 380 is the maximum power from the hourly Armoury Exchange)

So overall it is still cheaper to Consecrate a Higher Power weapon than to Consecrate a lower Power weapon then Empower it to Power 500.

The full rate is:

Power Plasteel Diamantine Dockets
Empower 10-90 per +10 35 0 500
Empower 90-190 per +10 75 0 1000
Empower190-290 per +10 80 20 2000
Empower 290-390 per +10 100 50 3000
Empower 390-490 per +10 120 70 4000
Empower 490-500 150 100 5500

So 11500 Dockets, 4250 Pasteel, 1500 Diamantine if you managed to get a 0 Power weapon to Empower to 500.

SACRIFICING

A bit of research and experimentation.

Sacrificing for Mastery seems to only care about:

  1. The weapon rarity is at least Green.
  2. The Power of the weapon.
  3. If it is the same weapon group it gives x6 the XP.

Roughly it gives 25xPower level for same family and 4xPower Level for different weapons.

Power 500 = 12390xp same weapon group, 2065xp for different weapon group

Power 380 = 9510xp same weapon group, 1585xp for different weapon group

Power 300 = 7590xp same weapon group, 1265xp for different weapon group

Better rarity doesn’t matter so it is most efficient to sacrifice greens.

This means you can brute force it by guying greens from the hourly shop. (mostly Power 350-380). Likewise blues but they will be a bit more expensive for no more Mastery XP.

Or getting some greys from the shop or from Brunt (which tends to be 270-330 power) and consecrating them.

Likewise a 380 power grey bought from the armoury exchange and consecrated for 122 plasteel gives slightly more XP per plasteel than a 300 for 102 plasteel or 330 for 109 Plasteel.

MASTERY TIER

Perks: Tier 2 requires 4 Mastery, Tier 3 requires 8 Mastery, Tier 4 requires 14 Mastery

Empower: 200 Power requires 6 Mastery, 300 Power requires 11 Mastery, Power 400 requires 15 Mastery, Power 500 requires 19 Mastery.

I think you get your first Tier 4 blessings around Mastery 13.

SHOPS

At level 30:

Brunt’s Armoury: 270 Power - 330 Power Greys (~base rating 246 - 279 in old money)

Hourly Shop (Armoury Requisition): 350 Power - 380 Power Greys, Greens and Blues (~base rating 293 - 314 in old money)

Daily Shop: All Power 500 Orange weapons (base rating 380 in old money)

Power to Base Rating Conversion
I think the conversion between the old 85-380 base rating and the Power 500 system is:

Power = (Base Rating -85)/0.59 rounded to the nearest 10

Base Rating = (Power x0.59) + 85

(Not exact because Power always is in values of 10s and so there are slightly different bar totals in the same Power)

500 Power = 380 Base Rating. The starting greys are 85 base rating.

So a 380 Power weapon is 309 base rating in old money.

Whilst an old 360 base rating would be about 470 Power.
