I mean… yeah it sucks, the game was released with half the gearing missing and the RNG is insane. But every single change they’ve made to it has made it better. Even if it’s just a bit.
Yet as long as the community keeps droning on about wanting all locks removed to get everything all at once and for free, with no regard for the overall balance of gameplay loop, it’s not like anything Fatshark does - for the good of the game -, is going to be enough anyway.
Darktide still has precious little unique content. Everything about it is based on near endless repetition, and the gearing reflects that. It’s there so people don’t reach that point where they all have everything they want and there’s nothing more to do.
Yes we need more agency, obviously, but not unlimited agency either. Personally I can’t wait to see what they’ll come up with when they do.
No wonder they can’t do anything with this game, the talent left (I had speculation that something like this happened) yikes. My expectations now are no longer positive but more of the continuing train wreck.
The guy responsible for the mechanics of a system isn’t always the same one to handle the fine tuning of numbers and balance. There’s a good chance they have some different autist for it. Devs generally do.
But given FS abyssmal balance decisions and gross oversight in pumping and dumping certain weapons. I’d expect they don’t have someone for that. He probably did it as well.
