Hive scum and old wepons

this is purely psych math and not actually a real factor, play dual auto desperado in havoc without a purg staff bot and you will 100% top damage without effort, not that Tanner would know that…

is it possible that the so-called “psych math” term you used for it holds up and the people you played with were just worse than the hive scum using dual auto pistols?…… i wonder how much higher the hive scum would have been had he used a vraks.

The people in my lobbies are equal or greater in skill than me, it isn’t about killing bosses, it’s about killing everything

Sure autopistols won’t mag dump a captain and take most of their health, but that’s not the entirety of a weapon’s performance. That’s like saying that the chainaxe has better dps than the shivs because it cleaves more targets in a horde. It’s just too much reliance on numbers and not the usefulness of the weapons in other ways. Like saying the shredder is awful compared to auto pistols because of lower dps, and completely ignoring the stun while braced and unyielding damage. Try hip firing headshots while dodging back from a pack of ragers and tell me what happens to you when you do it. Autopistols have higher dodge distance, spread blessing, amazing fire rate and therefore stagger buildup, little to no accuracy decrease while moving, and are much easier to burst fire from mid range while hip firing and still hit the head of what the hell you’re aiming at. That’s why he’s saying it’s psych math. It’s only considering pure damage numbers.

also scum can slide with auto pistols while shooting which is concentrated hilarious. when I feel like hitting headshots I don’t feel like playing scum. that isn’t the gameplay I’m looking for bursting at head level. I want to shoot the guns and have heretics cower at the deluge of light dakka. its sort of like using dueling sword on Zealot, yes I have seen the numbers but it feels entirely wrong from the fantasy perspective. especially mid idle when your hand is behind your back like some dandy, that does not convey a fanatic ready to spill blood for the glory of Big E.

These tests are in controlled environments homedog. I can’t believe people can look at that video and just take it all in 100% without using some outside thought or actual experience. The game’s mechanical and macro play that goes into a game goes a lot further than standing in the psykhanium and comparing raw DPS numbers on a literal AFK monstrosity.

The one time I’ve run into an iag user with me on uzis just fooling around on auric with similar builds, we ended up with literally identical damage, within a margin of error.

They perform so close to each other, it becomes a matter of pref really.
