Shock Troop Gauntlet just puts the Conveyor Belt of Specials/Elites on overdrive, which can result in 2-3 trappers trying to befriend one person at the same time.
I’m gonna be the guy who says that 70% loose rate for HISG in pubs is absolutely not suprising, and this is not aimed at you OP, just a general obesrvation:
A lot of players are playing at difficulties they otherwise absolutely have no business to be at, but as our characters are OP AF at the moment they are carried by them to some extent. HISG is the point where that’s not enough anymore. Just like Rolling Steel where if you don’t do the objective, then it doesnt matter how quick and how many enemies you kill: You will fail. Game and common sense, altho latter feels like being less common despite it’s namesake.
Win strategy is:
Dont rush at any circumstances
Roll back to better positions if u have plenty of enemies
Have build that can destroy any enemy or survive long enough/solve every situation.
Dont panic if u alone.
Huge disagree.
We need something more difficult
Regarding difficulty, it’s a questionable issue. In 90% of cases, I play with randoms, and most of them are either average and without any issues or quite good games, with moments of concern being very rare. I actually think there should be a sixth difficulty level, but it shouldn’t just be based on level entry; it should have something else. This difficulty should provide a real challenge.
It might be influenced by the number of hours I’ve played this game, but even characters with a small number of hours can still surprise.
That’s hilarious, considering the overwhelming majority of “Auric” players can’t last a single room without going down and ragequitting when their wounds run out.
In one of my last runs the match cycled through 3 diffirent teams before actual good players joined. That’s 9 leavers. The teammates is the hardest difficulty modifier in this game, either play with pre-made or suck it up. No other advice can be given here.
Or pray…
It works… sometimes lol
more seriously, I play only with random, and it goes well most of the time. But, you always get the guy that you don’t know why he plays auric.
It may cause he wanted to test a build, but seriously testing a build in histg? I would not do it (and the reason why I wasn’t playing auric until I wanted to complete penances)
But I agree about the general statement.
However, sometimes, the game wants your death… when you face a chaos spawn at the first part of gloriana, only 1 charge at the medicae, no medikit, and that the game launch waves of dreg ragers and crushers and mauler… you know that the game wants you dead.
To be honest, the best advice for playing with randoms is just keep running the most powerful builds. In particular VoC Veteran or Crit Zealot. You are much less dependant on incompetent teammates and may have a chance when the Director says “**** you in particular” and sends wave after wave of elites during boss fights.
Are you meta wh0ring? - No = you dont do it
Are your teamates meta wh0ring? - No = you dont do it
HISTG is a sieve, do you kill that special with breakpoint optimized build one shot / burst:
No - you lose
Yes - you CAN win
Skill obviously was, is and will be the HIGHEST modifying factor and there a couple people who can do it even solo. But the problem is its boring to kite for me, like to tears boring.
If you want to do it the intended way and you see zealot/vet not running Vraks/Zarona/Bolter/Plasma then you can just leave as any other gun needs too much time to deal with stuff.
Here the list of OP ranged weapons…
You have forgot the voidstrike staff at least.
And maybe boltgun. Problem is that Boltgun is also a noob trap. We begin to see again players that cry every 2 minutes that they need ammos… and still that are stealing 80% of the ammos of the map (precision a skilled player will change your run into a walking simulator).
And there’s also a list of melee OP or really stronger weapons…
They really need to check the game balance and buff weaker weapons (as I don’t believe they will do a real balance pass cause it would mean nerfing lot of weapons).
Yes I am. And when I fall, the whole team would collapse within a minute.
I wonder why this often happens also for me on regular damnation…
In auric, this is not my experience. I see several players that obviously launched an auric mission by error (let’s be kind), but most of the players know playing.
But regular damnation is often harder than Histg, and this is not a joke. Cause you get typically the hardest and hidden modifier… bad teammates.
You can even find console players that can’t aim and that will deal worse damages than…a bot (no, that’s not a joke).
Iam not that versed in psyker staves as its more complicated than-
Take vraks, pop scryers, kill everything.
Bolt Pistol is somewhat decent sidegrade to zarona, but if non-vets use bolters as primaries then just hog ammo and drag people down
Yes, i agree but they need to address the glaring balance issues first. If they just added a new difficulty that simply upped the enemies health and damage, then the problem would be that the currently OP weapons and builds would only further outshine the weak ones.
You are probably at this point good enough to carry your weight, but not good enough to carry new and returned players. Either they are spoling your run cause you’re trying to be a good guy (i was like that too)
First of all be more egoistic if you see randoms are pure like absolutely trash.
Don’t let them consume all heals and nades if they will be knocked or dead 3 mins after anyway. In that case they are playing against you by wasting resources.
Don’t risk to revive them. They did something stupid? Let them die, maybe being punished and embarrassed will motivate them to stop being dumb and bad. If you are the only one/one of the most skilled in the team, you are more precious.
Easy fix - move to maelstorm, you will learn more (new and returned player jumps there too sometimes unfortunately, but it’s still better), seeing how skilled players facerolling through the maelstroms. And when you will go back to regular aurics you will find it easy.
Just like working with weights, you need more stress to adapt and become better.
And if they will increase the ammount of enemies nothing will change cause of cooldown reduction farm. Vet shouting every second causing DT to crash cause sound engine can’t handle that, yep.
The current state of the game AI is the worst it’s ever been. A literally empty room floods with literally 100 enemies in literally 2 seconds out of 10+ spawn points all around you, all perfectly synchronized with aimbot accuracy. Multiple specialists comboing you like its Marvel vs Capcom 2 at EVO.
The game is plainly not fun right now. This is coming from a 2000 hour, Auric/Maelstrom only player. My other similar cohorts all agree. We will probably be giving this game a break soon unless we see Fatshark address the problems. Silent spawns and 0 setup dogs/trappers are another layer of BS.
sah, ogryn saw “things”
things that would make spess maeen run.
but one thing ogryn never saw:
shame in the eyes of punies splat on floor.
Excluded the random Fatshark Jank™ where the game triple spawns silent Trappers right on top of your forehead, it has never been easier
Conversely, the playerbase is an all time bad and selfish
The former is a mix of many reasons, but one of them comes from how dumbed down the game has become, which doesn’t promote learning or improving at anything
When Magic Mary Sue shouts his one button wonder in your ear all game for permanent super toughness, while deleting entire hallways by vaguely clicking in their general direction, nobody gets better, especially not newer players
The latter comes from Fatshark’s insistance on giving player the most selfish power fantasy tools, like solo sustain or stealth, which only promote destroying team cohesion, which also leads to an inordinate amount of defeats
Good advice, just go regular Heresy.
Reg Heresy, then Shock Troop/Hunting Grounds Heresy, then High Intensity Shock Troop Heresy, then Damnation.
True that. If FS implemented a modifier that restricted Abilities players would be forced to become better with core block/push/dodge mechanics. It should be a modifier for Heresy and Damnation that grants exclusive weapon/clothing cosmetics as a reward each week.
