HI,Fatshark,i have a new idea

I’ve been contemplating how to introduce the Tyranid ‘Genestealer Cult’ faction into the game. While every hive city harbors Genestealers, they cannot be added like the Beastmen in ‘Vermintide’—fighting alongside Nurgle factions against players—because the Tyranid Hive Mind and the Chaos Gods are mortal enemies. A Genestealer-Nurgle alliance would be lore-breaking and absurd. Thus, integrating Genestealers poses a challenge. I believe players would welcome a new enemy faction. So why not make them descend from the skies? Like in Warhammer 40K: Deathwing, an unidentified immigrant vessel emerges from the Warp above Tertium Hive. It ignores all hails from the Mourningstar. With Tertium’s relations with the Inquisition strained, supplies are dwindling. To secure resources, Inquisitor Rannick and Captain Brahms deliberately dispatch a strike team to board this silent ship. Unbeknownst to them, the vessel teems with Tyranid xeno-mutants stirring restlessly."
Upon accepting the mission, players will board the immigrant vessel for investigation. The ship contains multiple compartments where combat ensues—similar to Vermintide 2’s Chaos Wastes, but adhering to Darktide’s claustrophobic close-quarters combat. Completing objectives in each compartment dynamically impacts subsequent missions:

Destroy Tyranid mutant armories → Next mission has fewer ranged aberrants but more melee swarms

Sabotage incubation chambers → Drastically reduces special/disabler spawns

Restore power in electro-conduit vaults → Restore the light to the dark spaceship

Activate comms-relay → Enables Mourningstar vox-hail support (supply drops/intel)
Players must conquer the entire mission chain amidst ever-shifting combat parameters.

Additional concept: Make Lord Melk serve his ACTUAL purpose. Current contracts are meaningless, with pathetic rewards. My proposal: Upon completing weekly tasks for ONE class, reward 50 Aquilas. With five total classes, finishing ALL grants 250 Aquilas weekly. This would actually incentivize players to engage with the contract system**

Beancounters say “no”.

Additional proposal: New loading screens depicting Valkyrie dropships departing the Mourningstar. As players deploy to different Tertium zones, dynamic scenes unfold:

Industrial Sector: Valkyrie weaves through smokestacks belching chem-fog, foundries casting rivers of molten steel that dye the sky crimson

Throneside District: Aircraft dodges flak bursts while soaring past cathedral spires; gargoyle-stitched skyscrapers pierce acid clouds

Hab-Block Zone: Flies over teeming hive slums; distant silhouettes show Nurgle cultists rallying plague-zombies in courtyards

Underhive Depths: Descends into bio-luminescent gloom; vistas reveal corroded infrastructure dripping with viridian slime as terrain shifts to sickly green

They don’t. Every Hive may have Genestealers, and/or Chaos uprisings of any sort, but they’re not always present.

Yes, though there are cases of GSC being corrupted to Nurgle (Cult Tenebrus) having the GSC alongside or on the same maps as the current factions would be dubious at best unless overt Truxican stand-off.

Of course new factions would be welcomed, as it has been quite requested for before.

So having the 2/3 factions be separate ? 1 mode being Scab + Dreg, and the 2nd being GSC ?

Nah that wouldn’t really work well, and feel tacky.

On the other hands, there are means to make a new factions that wouldn’t be Nurglite (or new-Nurglite), by having other cults start to join the frey. Having some Khornate/Tzeentchian/Slaaneshi hordes, each based on a new origin, and looking differently from the current Scab and Dregs (Eg: Khornate Enforcers with Corpse Grinder aesthetics; Tzeentchian Nomads based on the Necromudan Ash Waste Nomads…)

Those do on certain cases happen to ally up (if for example someone is pulling the threads behind, like Be’lakor).

Yes. Adding a new Nurgle Cult faction is feasible—many Nurgle units are still missing from the game. The Nurgle Cult lurking in the shadows might bring us fresh horrors from the Warp.

I’m not saying we should get a 3rd Nurgle faction, What I’m saying is that new chaos cults from the other chaos gods could easily work in DT alongside the current game.

The Four Chaos Gods remain locked in perpetual enmity, ever delight in thwarting each other’s schemes.you think Who would be most lore-appropriate to ally with Nurgle?

I literally owned a Khornate GSC army back when White Dwarf included instructions for converting non GW toy cars into 40k vehicles.
Warhammer 40K: 1989’s Original Genestealer Cult Army List - Bell of Lost Souls

But yeah, they would almost need separate maps to make sense now.

Correct. Thus I designed a silent immigrant vessel—for Tyranids and gothic-horror starships are eternally perfect partners.
