Not true! As soon as anyone ever mentioned it since… ages ago! there were various people voicing concerns about nerfing the DS or PG too.
Its not new and it doesnt matter how long they wait, it was always gonna cause people to get riled up.
Just look at every single thread on these forums that mentions nerfing the DS or PG and not just the ones made for discussing it. Many threads have been derailed as soon as someone mentions it.
This is just how it goes. PG and DS are among one of many contentious subjects that easily derail a thread.
Imo, this thread is just fanning the flames for no reason. What kind of conducive discussion do you expect to come from this?
I would bet money that this thread will get locked soon because of people dissing each other.

I mean it was titled the way it was for a reason. It’s an expression of frustration directed at Fatshark for letting the current balance state become normalised. I truthfully wasn’t aiming for any kind of discussion nor really expected the amount of agreement it’s received. I think more likely it will die out shortly but whatever it was a vent post it’s already served its purpose.
Anyway not arguing with your criticism. Nor particularly interested in a back and forth on how much impact slow balancing has exactly on community reaction.

My problem with them nerfing the dueling sword is the combat blade is as good of a weapon and they have never ever touched that weapon. It boggles my mind that people talk about the dueling sword as if the knife hasnt dominated the game for 2 years straight. Also the mobility on the knife is completely broken. These people continue to complain about the dueling sword as if the knife never existed and its actually insane. If theyre going to nerf the dueling sword then nerf the knife otherwise you actually arent fixing any balance problems youre just trading one problem for another and many people still only ever use the knife because they prefer it. Only reason so many ppl use the dueling sword is ease of use. Also I could care less if they nerf the plasma gun things needed nerfed for ages. I myself want more weapons in general in the game but I specifically want more weapons that are good into unyielding. Laspistol with the right build on vet shreds bosses but you never see anyone use it but ive been eating bosses alive with it here recently. Just give us more options because alot of people go bolter plasma because it just works and they percieve everything else as being horrible into unyielding enemies. Give us more ranged weapons that are good into bosses just give us more variety. I myself dont play with plasma anymore and my shot with the bolter has always been horrible so laspistol it is for me till we get something else new and exciting to shoot at bosses. Also trust me I know theyre buffing certain weapons which could be good into bosses but i doubt they will compare to bolter plasma laspistol.

It always would, but the degree of severity would be far less if they had made these changes earlier imo. Especially before a hard meta for Havoc 40 Season 2 was established.
Also undoubtedly part of the problem right now is the confusion of some people thinking the exact “leaked” patch notes are going to be in the upcoming update, when those changes aren’t even confirmed or coming on the 23rd.
I guess if they keep their word on having more consistent balance updates we’ll see if it’s true or not.
