Don’t worry! I sure they’ve added the much anticipated escort mission with the upcoming update!
@Ragnarok101, so did I win in both?
A completely nonspecific teaser for itemization and a freaking card game?
Yup, you were on the money.
I’m a big sucker for winter environments, and I’m excited to see Darktide’s fantastic gore on a white background.
Hopefully this sets the tone for future missions. Every mission in the game currently has nothing remotely interesting or really related to the narrative or overall game. The Carnival missions had nothing to do with the Twins event and boss mission when they came out, so this is a nice change.
Still the disappointment stings a bit too much to get excited for the update right now. Maybe a week from launch I’ll get excited for it…
Some Feedback, get good updates.
My feedback, as calm and collected as I can make it at the moment:
This is a pathetic offering in comparison to your competitors, and to other games in development from your own company. It proves that your bosses are either completely failing to dedicate the amount of people they say they are to this game, or that you’re collectively incompetent at the actual act of development to a degree that makes it a wonder any of you are employed.
Either offer something of substance or GTFO. When VT2 has an entire dev discussion and long-requested items showing up all at once, and HD2 is making an event featuring brand-new mechs, Darktide comes off far worse. You’re pushing overpriced cosmetics to the front and offering no actual content to incentivize people to play, all this accomplishes is making the greed of your bosses obvious.
Space Marine 2 offers defined classes, weapon customization, and PvE co-op. It appears to be a far superior game, at least in terms of what Darktide fails hardest at.
You desperately need to fire whoever is dragging this game down.
Yes, there is seriously some dead weight holding this company back.
I really don’t get it; you guys actually leveled up first-person melee combat from the garbage-tier that is Skyrim-style to something with depth and fun. But you are barely able to capitalize on it!
Damn that’s a big load of nothing…
(…not mentioning what other games had to show)
Even if you only want to test a new system at least put rewards there that ppl would like to get…
Here’s a few no effort ideas:
- Reskin the silver skull trinket to gold
- Insignia that is a pile of skulls
- Release the combined blue Moebian 6th helmets (mask + helmet in one cosmetic) and draw some skulls on the side
Even the last WarhammerFest stuff was more satisfying (code-redeemable stuff):
lol.
Its like an echo of the past. How many times, Fatshark?
Measure twice, cut once. Not measure 5 times, cut, reglue, cut again.
2 years for “first event” i mean even though you already had an event but ok. god you guys are so bad.
why even bother taking feedback, it seems like you guys never just stick to a system, all the feedback is gonna be useless cuz next event is gonna be running on a new system.
why don’t you guys stop reworking every single thing for years and just work with what you have so we can get some content.
Mats, really?
Not even a sharkhead hat or some funny skins?
Well on to the pointless numbers-pile until it caps I guess.
Well, this was underwhelming. As expected, but it still hurts a little.
I would love to have confidence in the phrase “We’re taking on the feedback you have”… but if that were really the case, we wouldn’t only getting materials now. You can read it in the forum for months… and if it was for new players, the amount you get is ridiculously small.
It’s really obvious that they have not read, or have ignored all feedback. ALL feedback.
It’s also really obvious that they have never ever played the game on a regular account. It’s also obvious that even on their dev boosted accounts, they almost never play the game. They’re so out of touch it just boggles the mind.
Did you watch the live stream a map a couple of weapons and promises of some crafting changes. 2 crackheads and a stripper could have produced more new content .
I don’t know. A time-limited events system in the game (unlike the last Skulls event) that should allow for Helldivers 2-esque regular events seems like something players would want. Everyone knows the biggest most-feedback’d-ever issue is crafting, and so itemization is being addressed (and we’re getting updates on it).
They missed the mark on the first “pilot” event in this new system when they made it mostly attractive to the players who don’t play on IV/V or haven’t played for 1k hours. But the overall intent (and absolutely where the bulk of the effort for this addition went) seems player-focused, positive, and definitely not as detached from reality as you seem to feel it is.
The amounts in question wouldn’t be attractive to anyone. Not even a brand new player. That’s the kind of disconnect you only get from a developer who never plays their own game, let alone on a non-dev account.
And thus, the entire events system was for nothing and Fatshark didn’t listen to feedback, despite editing the post (and responding elsewhere) to confirm that they’re hearing the negative feedback, because they did not immediately rectify the situation.
I’ve got high hopes for the events.
What fccking event system. It’s a glorified stat tracker which has been in-game since release.
The mere fact that they added some additional database entries isn’t some goddamn system.
It’s one backend guy doing a modicum of work and a UI person copy pasting the penance tracker and adding the respective backend calls.
The way you hype this up makes me actually believe that you’re either a desperate dev alt or delusional to the point of reality loss.
This is the type of sht software agencies dish out last minute in a nightshift with two guys high on Red Bull and caffeine. It’s actually pathetic in every sense of the word.
