A big problem for me still is Helbores swap speed. I find it unjustified and not a good part of its identity. I think a higher swap speed for bolter is good because of its high burst damage, something the helbore doesn’t have.
This would be good, because than instead of being forced into using the bayonet, you can give incentives for the player to want to use the bayonet with options like you said.
I won’t lie I am dubious of the idea of melee blessings on it, considering how useless they are on the G Gauntlet but the Bayonets simple and fast attacks (not including the disgusting slash) might make it more usable.
I didnt try to replace any blessings because history shows fatshark is not willing to delete their own work. They have reworked and altered, but almost never actually removed/replaced something. So if im asking for change i find that the way i asked has a higher chance of success/actually being considered.
Personally i’d also prefer completely new blessings far far more. There’s so much fun stuff you could come up with with the weapon charging and the bayonet combo.
I understand this perspective but incredibly strong disagree. One of the most armour type agnostic guns in the game, great breakpoints, charge mechanic on top of this allows for effective use from trash shooters all the way to crushers and bosses. And you have the best gun special in the game to help you avoid putting it away just for a few trash mobs.
Also it’s on Vet, who now has a swap speed talent if it really bothers you (does Exe still speed up draw speed? It feels like it but I haven’t run it with hellbore or bolter recently). We’re moving too much towards homogenising everything and I hate that with a passion.
Honestly hellbore is around the point I wish most weapons were at. Has identity, strong but requires good use to achieve its potential, well defined drawbacks, lots of decision making, can be built around in interesting ways (eg agile talent).
