HeavyWeight Champion Penance Rework

So many of you may know that Heavyweight Champion Penance got bumped from 4 to 6 which made it considerably more difficult to complete. ive been non-stop playing as my Ogryn for the passed 3 weeks put in around 180 missions, my fair share of Heresy/Damnation. now this is the list of issues with increasing the amount of Ogryns by 2.

Load into any mission that spawns Scabs more then not can be Heresy+ or Damnation+ ive probably tried 3-4 different maps on both Heresy and Damnation high intense or low intense. out of maybe 40? tries ive maybe had 6 times where there were barely enough Ogryns. never 6, only 5. that and or Reapers. Reapers dont work, they run away when you get close. the other issue with this is players joining when you’re trying to get the penance and getting mauled by a massive horde you’re holding off with the Slab shield. another issue is Hounds, Trappers, Mutants interrupting your run. but my main issue is this penance means you NEED to pretty much be in a squad with friends that can navigate around Crushers/Bulwarks. and not get smashed because no way in hell will your average random player not prioritize taking out the Ogryns first since they’re high priority. OR get extremely lucky with your first spawns when loading in solo only to take taken out by a hound, mutant, trapper, etc. i think 5 is a perfectly doable number. its what usually spawns when you’re lucky on Damnation. anyways, bit of a rant but its been a week of me trying to get it and it should not be this difficult.

6 enemy ogryn being alife at the same time is incredibly rare (even on damnation with high intensity), not even considering any of the other factors that are relevant for the penance.

  • I can not remember ever having seen 6 enemy ogryn at once, in a place where they could all have been hit with a single charge (360 hrs, mostly heresy and damnation).
  • When 6 ogryn could happen, it is likely that they show up with a slight delay, and a few of them have already died by the time the 5th and 6th show up.
  • When 6 ogryn do happen, it is not a moment where your entire party just does not attack any of them and moves them around to line them up for you to charge them.

Some of the other classes’ penances are quite weird and annoying to do, but although tricky, they can all be done quite quickly, if that is the goal.
You can literally finish all difficulty bound penances on zealot + veteran + psyker in less time than it takes for the necessary situation for the ogryn penance to occur even once.
The penance in its current state requires far too much luck and the number should definitely be reduced to 4 or 5.
