Heartbeat sound.

this is for the Dev’s of the game, i love the game it great and going in a great direction. but i have RL heart issues and the game has an in game non-stop heart beat sound and its causing my heart to change BPM and giving me actual heath issues, all i ask is you make an option to toggle it on or off.

Ok, what.
I’m not against accessibility options for people with health problems, no. If anything, i believe every game should have as much of them as possible. But i’m legit interested on how a sound of a heartbeat can change your irl bpm.

I can definitely see it.

Especially if he has issues. Its designed to be stressful, and clearly it works on some people.

I just played a round, and turned off all music to check.
There’s no heartbeat sound that I can hear? Even when it’s on pretty loud.

Out of interest, have you turned music off if this “heartbeat” sound is causing issues?

Yeah I was trying to think and I can’t recall heart beats in the game.

I assume what they are referring to is the heartbeat sound that is played when you are very low HP and your toughness (is about to) break. Then a heartbeat sound plays, however if you die and get rescued there is a chance this sound continues even if you are full HP.

The human nervous system is actually attuned to respond to another person’s heartbeat. This is most notably handy early in life where babies respond by matching the heartrates of their mother’s which can be a useful mechanism for calming them down when stressed. But it also works for couples as well and is why snuggling can be so relaxing as the bodies engage in a sympathetic calming feedback loop matching breathing and heartrate. Its my understanding this mechanism exists in the audio input domain as well, so it really could unironically be messing with this guy.

He’d probably be better served asking after some kind of mod that does this rather than asking the devs though.

ya, it’s an annoying bug since the game release and it has never been fixed for a year.
