Being a long time veteran of both V2 and DT and a persistent hater of winds of magic weaves back on V2 i have to admit: havoc mode, in spite of all its flaws and bugs, is much much better than weaves in every aspect.
I have completed both rank 40 and “True survivor” challenges while i have unlocked all the pieces of black moebian 53d armour set. So i have accumulated a lot of experience gaming exclusively on this new mode.
My conclusion is that 40 ranks of scaled difficulty full of challenging combinations of spec conditions and players debuffs have hit the sweet spot for me.
Weaves have 160 tiresome missions full of annoying effects and the highest ones could only be beaten by exploits, specific broken career traits and safespots. Whereas havoc ranks require pure cooperation skill and normal gameplay.
Relevant cosmetics awards feel more rewarding and meaningful to me and in general the whole havoc experience is much more entertaining and drives for teamplay and cooperation. The whole strategizing and min maxing for the top ranks and challenges is what i really love.
Some strange and weird design decisions and technical issues (such as hosted ranks vs assist ranks, the weekly progression and the various network disconnects and errors) are not impactful enough to shade the Havoc success.
