It does fill me with vindication that people see havoc for what it is.
I was afraid that criticism of the mode would be bogged down by the smoothbrain ‘skill issue’ crowd.
But instead the majority feedback is that off “ok so, why this exists?”

My feedback for havoc is that the gameplay is fun but sadly it’s locked behind 50 poop gates with trap doors in-between each gate. Also each gate is set on fire and 2000ft in the air.

But the gameplay is fun if you’re not emotionally spent before you get to play it.

I could have told you that. Havoc should have been between an actual update and content, because it provides so little to do to the average player, made worse by forcing party finder.

Game needs more enemies, hab zones, weapons and more intelligent balance. Far more than some sweat lodge.

Bad thread.
The problem with havoc and weaves is not diffuclty at all.

The 2 problems these modes have are

  1. Grouping is obscenely inconvenient and obnoxious. (dont have to explain this one, should be obvious)
  2. The actual introduced mechanics make the game worse. (Barrel carrying stops you from actually playing vermintide entirely, the freaking thorns on the ground making you play as lame as possible so you dont stand in them - high gunner damage encouraging peek a boo and waiting, green goo makes you pick boring ults that removes green goo as a mechanic, gas making you wait more, waiting for gunners to come to you etc etc.)

Evidenced in:
The “special challenge modifier from chests” (cant remember the freaking name - you apply them when picking a map and theres a bug that lets you use them with cata) you can use in Vermintide also see no play despite being extremely easy (difficulty scaling ends at legend without the bug) and theres even achievements for them. Simply because theres not reasonable way to group for them.

Twitch mode is extremely popular even with people who dont actively stream on twitch. (twitch being a very difficult mode if you crank the modifiers).
(Cataclysm/Hi-shock/Maelstrom also being the most populated difficulties general. Most people who stick around want challenge)

Karnak Twins see basically no play (Grouping for them is completely sectioned off - meanwhile the train mission which is also “short and difficult” sees a lot of play being in the main rotation/qp).

What boggles is that…does FS have nobody On-Call?

If a major customer-facing feature broke on something at my work today, particularly the newest and highest profile element, IT and Dev would be on it, holiday or no.

The issue appears to be server-side, and while its been many moons since I’ve worked IT and I don’t know how complicated the fix is, it’s odd that it’s been allowed to persist this long.

Ah okay, I’d figured they had to, though its awkward that the only places they’d tell anyone about that are the platforms you can’t view without logins or 3rd party apps.

I mean, look the crafting system. Vermintide’s community asked for a crafting with less RNG… Fatshark gave to Darktide one with much more RNG… just to waste two years to fix a problem that there should not have been

It could of been a more grand scale.

Imagine a raid type game mode with escalating boss sections with T6 difficulty that scales and has…8 players. You would definitely need wider area maps or it will be a deathball comedy.

Somebody must be there on standby for IT because there was a news posting on the character select screen citing Havoc is down…

Not to sound negative, I just expected that on a vacation somehow there would be a breakdown of something and it happened just days before the bi weekly maintenance cycle occurs where the next rotation of Commodores Vestures procs lol

But what gameplay tho?
I dont mean this sarcastically, Havoc is an x*y multiplier on enemies and power reduction on players nothing more.
All visual changes to enemies can be in normal modes as well.
Havoc 40 can be easily played without the Havoc part, just dont pick talents and play with sh-t tier grey weapons - bam I just made Havoc

I could go and try climbing it and I believe that with rando sweats on discord I could get to 40 cuz the math was done already and Iam not bad at this game.
But I have 0 incentive to do so, when I can start helldivers 2 where its big content was new map types, weapons, a vehicle and 1st wave of new enemy faction … and have FUN

because the meme you decided to post explicitly chooses “extremely high difficulty” as the only descriptive feature of the mode youre complaining about

Go play auric maelstrom after havoc and it will feel like a T3 experience. No joke.

The gameplay in havoc is different, and yes whilst it “could” be in the vanilla game, sadly it’s not. So havoc is where we play it.
