Only reason i keep going back to havoc is the team aspect, ppl in havoc play like a team with roles and separating usually means a wipe compared to aurics where everyone is racing for kills. I can definitely understand where your coming from but at the end of the day unfairness is part of the design ![]()
Havoc 40 should be nearly impossible tbh. But for the right reasons. This seasonâs combo of modifiers is like Fun Silica Gel.
Thatâs because FS is afraid of nerfing anything.
Anyway, ARC Raiders is awesome and DRG season 6 is announced.
You didnât play for some time, that could be a reason, but i wonât say that new havoc modifiers is good, in fact they are pure c.a.n.c.e.r.
I thought rotten + stimms or purple is bad, but yesterday did it from 1st attempt, but previous mission with same team was final toll, stimms and as cherry on top mostly dregs, that was horrible, even playing as arby with dog to counter both blue and red.
In one of the attempts i got wombo combo of mutant grabbing me while blue and red rager gutted me like a fish in sushi restaurant in a second, if not less.
Have you seen the trailer for the upcoming game Alkahest? Itâs branded as the spiritual successor to Dark Messiah which I am punching the air about.
Iâve been craving that style of linear game for so long and if they get the melee combat like DT then itâs going to be fun.
Also why has no one made a proper remake/remaster of Far Cry 1? Linear game with huge open corridors (islands/water), tropical setting, abandoned creepy science facilities in the jungle, the antithesis of power fantasy, and none of that horrible go-back-to-base-with-your-loot-for-the-hundredth-time nonsense. It was so creepy. Itâs the game I want revisited the most. All the FarCry sequels are nothing like Far Cry 1. I donât even know why they didnât just call it something else.
Sorry that was super off topic lol but you sparked some neural pathways in me for some reason
Wait, but if we would be given complete and full control over what we want, wouldnât the game become boring? Isnât this how the human psyche works? When you can do everything, it soon will feel like thereâs nothing to do.
Maybe thatâs why FatShark doesnât want to do something like this because they fear losing a lot of players that would leave out of boredom.
How ehow else do you combat leavers that plague literally every auric mission if there is nothing to lose?
By not allowing them to start a new mission until that one is ended, just like in Havoc. Nothing wrong with that bit of Havocs mechanics tbh.
Also allowing quickplay players to matchmake with missions that are no longer on the board - so that bots are not the only option for half a mission.
It really shows when thereâs a weak link in your team, leading to some frustrating moments if youâre playing in a closed group of friends and one of them is a little âwashed up.â
It IS doable with 4 sweats playing to win tho.
Just watched a bit of this Alkahest on its steam page, and it looks interesting when youâre into some first person slashing.
I think they see the player base splitting up into too many games. As it is, thereâs a much more limited number of games going on, so the network can funnel players into running games.
Yeah, that makes sense. A much better option to ask for is to #freethemodifiers. Releasing them into the mission board, wouldnât splice up the playerbase and it would only increase the replayability.
Listen to reason FatShark, we beg you!
Havoc 40 is supposed to be reserved for the top 1% of players.
They need that intensity to keep playing. Slightly better than Casuals like you and I need to know our place in Rank 20-30.
âruinedâ implies it was good at some point.
It wasnt, it was always trash.
That would be fine if Havoc was just another difficulty with inflated numbers, but the problem is that it also adds new and unique content. Itâs pretty stupid to design new content around 1% of tryhards when the game only gets 4 limited updates per year.
Iâm one of them btw, H40 personal assignment every week since the release of gamemode, except for the first week where it had huge connectivity problems.
Not as frantic as the tide games, but looks amazing!
I would love to have some of havocs modifiers show up in auric
Havoc sucks because the modifiers and defensive focused meta are terrible.
Like the healing mutator is straight up broken, especially if rotten armor and bulwark spam (make the shields breakable please) is combined with it, then the mission will just take over an hour to beat which is boring as hell since you have to fight a meatwall that can constantly heal.
Emperors fading light being in every mission is also pretty lame, thereâs no reason some of the most annoying enemies (shooters) in the game need to get buffed by any mutator. Period. Theyâre already busted enough normally (a common enemy shouldnât be able to one shot toughness and chunk your health) and are a large reason the defensive ult meta formed.
I suggest deleting the healing purple enemies and fading light entirely since they both ruin build variety and balance. Like fading light alone has led to this overly defensive meta where you need to have a bubble psyker, shout vet, book zealot and tauntgryn to survive properly which is kind of lame since they have other ultimates, but they get ignored because theyâre not defensive enough in nature and canât help the whole team.
Anyway, Havoc needs a massive overhaul, it needs to be made unfair since itâs a hard mode, but not in annoying ways like it is currently. Hard doesnât = tedious or annoying, it still needs to be fun, but currently it just isnât and this comes from someone who likes challenging games.
You know something is wrong with Havoc balance, when Havoc 40 with certain modifiers is actually 100% harder than the majority of Elden Ring main bosses lol
Havoc was always bad and will always be bad until they let players select difficulties, levels and modifiers freely.
