Assume anyone who says that to you is a Zealot using cheesy builds, it explains everything.
I’d love to see them take a Marksman Focus Executioner Stance Veteran build, using Infantry Autogun and Shovel, into the content they find so easy.

I don’t see why you should take a veteran. They did havoc against veterans. And as I said, I don’t like that.
Ranged weapons are not viables on havoc except veteran with a lasgun.
And here something is totally wrong!
Yeah that was about my experience on my executioner stance vet. If I missed even a few gunners off to the side my health would get deleted lol
Curiosity. What havoc level?
Cause at level 30, I would not take a veteran… except with lasgun, and I don’t like lasguns… so veteran is not even something I can envisage.
Yesterday was with the flamer on zealot. Only ranged weapon I can use. I use it exclusively for boss and when things get totally out of hands.
But when you pick a ammo pack, you recover 2-3 ammos. That’s a joke.
My point is the person claiming the game is “so easy”, is likely just abusing cheesy Zealot builds all the time.
If they tried using the build I mentioned and play, they’ll realise that the game is hard for 90% of other people who aren’t cheesing.
Let me switch my phrasing: Nerf Zealot, nerf temporary toughness shields (including Veterans), nerf knife mobility. Now lets rebalance Havoc appropriately.
:3c
I cleared a havoc 30 pub with an exe stance build, even got a clutch with it. I don’t think it’s the ideal experience for havoc still, you can just play shout vet and throw shredder frags with an uncanny shovel and absolutely melt hordes for the team and stunlock reapers and gunners with the extra frag radius and demo team talents.
Indeed I could.
I won’t be. I won’t be playing this tripe at all.
The game is not easy. However, gunners are not a threat on auric.
Btw, you won’t be able to forbid players to take OP weapons and builds.
I don’t think zealot has to be nerfed. Nor I think dagger zealot has to be nerfed. DS I agree, cause this weapon deal too easily with horde and with carapace and has an insane mobility.
Actually in havoc, considering the ammunition penalty, veteran is a big no for me.
At same time, we usually need beacon of purity to survive. Something that is only on zealot. I never use that in auric. Like I never use chorus also. But in havoc I use both.
It means also that I have a lot less power as a counterpart.
Btw, I don’t play havoc like i play auric, and I don’t play auric like I play regular games. I have a build I love on my veteran, a sniper build (using headhunter VII), this build is great on regular, not very good on auric, and cannot be used on havoc.
In havoc ![]()
I don’t use it in auric. But when you know that if there is a veteran you won’t pick ammos, or even without, ammos packs replenishes so few ammos… I take or a flamer (one shot use) or a revolver.
When I use the flamer, I usually need 10 minutes to replenish my ammunition reserve at checking every chests to find every ammo pack. This, of course, can apply only if no other teammate need also ammunitions.
The builds I’ve been using are a melee scrier’s gaze psyker build with the new greatsword, exe stance/shout vet, crusher chastise zealot, and bullgryn, might try taunt later though. I’ve had decent success personally, having clutched many times with zealot and psyker, not so much with vet or ogryn (I am just bad at ogryn).
I don’t think any of my talent builds are particularly meta, and I bring shotguns on zealot and shoutvet for the extra stagger/suppression for shooters, headhunter autogun for my exe build, trauma on psyker to stagger reapers and gunners or ragers as I approach them, and bullgryn never changes.
If you can clear auric with a challenging nonsensical build you can probably clear havoc 40 with a submeta, somewhat decent build, especially with a good team that’s well coordinated.
lot depends on how you define the words, for me
artificial difficulty is stat increases making them do more take less etc
the problem with artificial difficulty is it pushes the balance toa knife edge distribution , it remains ineffective until it wipes you the sweet spot between the two results where it actually could of gone either way get narrower the further you have to push artificial difficulty.
the other way to do it is to increase the challenge through adding tactics , abilities or synergies
just for eg take the sniper , mk1 is as now, mk 2 is using a refraction field and can only be seen by people he is targeting mk 3 adds a short range teleporter he can use if he takes fire but isnt hit/killed the damage it takes and does remains constant .
so for me havoc uses both , the stat changes are artificial in nature and the conditions (good or bad) are more natural
i think there is some room for artificial difficulty its not always bad, but i think we are relying on it far too much across the board probably from malice up
I think my biggest gripe with the gunners overall is the fact they give us less ammunition to deal with it because “havoc”. Fine, buff the gunners - go ahead - but don’t take away the means in which we can eliminate said gunners lol
I have been absolutely starving for something new to do in Darktide.
My experience of Havoc, going from 14-25, with PUGS, using my Veteran build, has utterly driven me away. The thought of touching Darktide makes me sick right now.
For me, this point goes too far.
I accept, and even I like, the gunners with auric condition. But the lack of ammos… that’s unfair if you want playing a ranged veteran with a ballistic gun.
I don’t mind a penalty. But here I feel that it goes too far.
But maybe this is cause I am not used to this penalty.
Yeah, I can go into a t5 auric maelstrom and destroy stuff but joining a 25+ havoc people literally get deleted in seconds and I feel like I am doing something wrong lol.
It aint you bud.
But on the plus side, you can use a Zealot build and butt-slide around the map one-tapping elites with your Duelling Sword all the way to H40, with ease. En-JOY!
its funny because I haven’t touched a dueling sword on my zealot and refuse to just like I refuse to touch a knife. Knife shouldn’t be in the game, and a dueling sword should of stayed with psykers. Wayyyyy to overpowered on a melee class.
I’m with you on that hill.
Until we see some logical changes that prevent wildly deviant playstyles like that one, they literally can’t get Havoc balanced correctly.
And as a Veteran player, that means VoC needs adjusting too.
I played my zealot all the way to level 1089 - during that time I saw sooooo many veterans being downed practically every game. Since the VoC release I BARELY see veterans go down. If that isn’t the definition of a crutch I don’t know what is
Edit: I mained a Veteran before I started Zealot - definitely a lot harder to survive as a Veteran but VoC was like adding training wheels onto the class
“lEtS mAkE a sHoUt tHaT sTagGeRs EVERYTHING”
Meanwhile being shot in the face by a bolter - “hah, barely a scratch”
Helldivers 2 moment. Remember how everyone ran 4 Quasars/ACs and 500 KG + OPS to one-shot cheese heavies on the highest difficulty and thought of themselves as some sort of members of an elite harcore club.
But when Arrowhead made have made big balance changes and mostly fixed enourmous performance gaps between the gear, they started whining about the “great casualization”. Watch the same thing will happen to Darktide and Havoc.
